Services
In addition to years of experience, Dr. Harris is constantly learning new techniques and has even helped develop some. As a comprehensive ophthalmologist, Dr. Harris is able to perform cataract surgery, Pterygium and glaucoma treatments, diabetic Retinopathy and lasik evaluations, and eyelid procedures in addition to routine eye exams.
Once it has been determined that you have cataracts the option for which type of surgery to have has also advanced. The standard or conventional way to have cataract surgery is with a blade or scalpel making the initial incision and performing part of the procedure. We now have the option for laser assisted cataract surgery.
This is a two-step process. Step one: as the name implies a laser is used to customize your cataract surgery for the exact size, depth and curvature of your eye. Utilizing OCT (Optical Coherence Technology) a high resolution image is created which allows Dr. Harris to plan and perform your surgery to exacting specifications.
When having cataract surgery nowadays you have options on which intraocular lens to use. The standard lens is referred to as a monofocal implant. As the name implies this lens has a single focus of vision. Typically a patient with a monofocal lens will require at least reading glasses and most likely corrective glasses for distance as well.
An astigmatism is an extremely common problem in patients that wear glasses. It is due to an imperfect shape of the cornea. This is the clear part of the front of the eye that is shaped more like a football than a perfectly round basketball. The glasses help to correct the astigmatism but when the glasses are not worn the vision again is blurry.

I had the opportunity to work for Dr. Harris' practice earlier this week but it was definitely short lived! Dr. Harris himself is an amazing doctor but his billing manager/front office manager is a woman of short patience and a bad attitude! I did an interview via zoom and was offered the job. I had a chance to interview with Dr. Harris and he made me aware of what was expected of me (my duties)upon entry. I clocked in my first day, and was instantly turned off by the woman who hired me!! I was "somewhat" being shown how to maneuver through dual screens and 4 different programs (takes more than

My grandmother asked me to bring her to see Dr.Harris. I am very displeased with their customer relations and how they treat the elderly. I understand it is a pandemic and they are trying to reduce contact however they need to make accommodations for older people who do not know how to check in and register via phone. On top of that they made it very clear that they were not willing to help. Patients are waiting at the door for further instruction and assistance on how they can be seen by the doctor and his staff is blatantly ignoring them. The staff knows that the patients need help with the check

I agree Dr. Harris is very thorough and the staffing is courteous, one issue is they will not bill you based off of issues of the past. I’m diabetic and requires a yearly exam this is my second year and unfortunately being on a fixed income I needed to be billed. So I ended up rescheduling on the day I would have the funds. I understand.

I had the horrible experience of having a piece of metal shard lodged in my eye causing my sight to be severely affected & headaches that were unbearable. Upon walking into the office I felt a very serene atmosphere....as I was greeted by a very cordial & delightful staff. I was seen quickly by Dr. Harris & he assessed & remedied the situation quickly. This doctor is on another level of treating humans like a human & he has a staff that matches his zest for life & resolve. I highly recommend him. As of tonight....no headaches....no blurred vision....no eye aches. I can't thank him or his staff

Dr. Harris takes the time to explain whatever your issue or condition is. He never makes me feel rushed in my examination. He answers all of my questions and does not make me feel as if my questions have no merit or basis for my question(s). He explains complicated medical problems in simple terms that non-medical people can understand.
