When I entered college my curiosity lead me to choose a major in anthropology. I was attracted to the field because it was concerned with the study of mankind. I was intrigued by the way culture affected behavior and the striking similarities between people. As a Teacher Corps fellow at USC we worked in teams to bring cutting edge teaching methods to inner city schools.
The purpose of psychotherapy is to understand what you want and need to make your life more productive and fulfilling. Psychotherapeutic teamwork cultivates the ability to see into yourself with more clarity and through these insights, more effective choices can be made. The goal is to develop and maintain a healthy and positive relationship with yourself.

It's taken me a few years to recalibrate after healing from an abusive relationship which Cloke attempted to mediate. After reading a book about the dynamics involved in my personal situation, I decided to look him up here, and inspired by another woman's review I am leaving my own (without my name as there are to this day, potentially problematic consequences). As is common when dealing with abuse dynamics, narcissism is in play. And at the risk of sounding ableist, if the narcissist is good they'll play right to the therapist's blind spots. Quite a while before Covid I had a few sessions with Cloke, not for any serious issues, but just to get a fresh and different perspective on life (someone had said they had met him and he seemed like a likable nice person so would probably be a good person to have a session with). Dr Cloke is caring, supportive, patient, non-judgmental and empathetic. He encourages and empowers. He is a man of integrity and worthy of the trust one must place in a shrink. His sense of humor is a positive, as well.

The most insightful, caring, knowledgable, professional, selfless, and genuine therapist I ever had.
Without him, I wouldn't have grown as much as I have. He is the real deal!

Highly recommend him.
Smart, intuitive and tactful.

I have utilized his services in couples counseling, as well as individual therapy. I feel it's more of a "check in" than anything. But no matter the severity of my visit I always feel as if I leave with lots to think about.
