Cook Automotive Repair is a family owned and operated business. The Cook family has resided in South Lyon, Michigan since 1992. They are car enthusiasts and have long been involved in various South Lyon community activities. The Cook Automotive Repair Team has been a Lyon Township Summerfest participant, the sponsor of the Nugget 1940 Willys car and an Active Faith food donation site.
I cannot say enough good things about Cook Automotive Repair. They knew my daughter needed her car back by this morning, so the mechanics worked late last night and early this morning to get it done. They made sure it was safety tested and ready for her by 8 am. They are as honest and reliable as an auto repair place can be.
Waste oil heater uses the used oil, transmission, differential and transmission fluids from flushes to heat the building. Blown-in insulation and fire retardent & special ceiling panels cut natural gas consumption by 50%. Hi-tech 1 inch thick Tectum ceiling and wall panels cut noise decibals in half as well as provides additional R-value energy savings.
Let's talk about air conditioning service and repair issues. Most of us we don't give our air conditioning a second thought as long as it's making cold air. But it's a complex and expensive system that we should think about before it starts blowing hot air. The refrigerant in the air conditioner contains a special oil that lubricates and cools the A/C parts.
You've probably noticed a bunch of warning lights on your dash when you start your engine. They flash on to test the circuits and then go off if everything's OK. One of the warning lights looks like a car battery. Its job is to tell you if your battery's not charging properly. You know that your battery stores electricity - enough to start your engine and get you moving.

I have a 17 yr old Volvo S 80 in fair to reasonable condition. I tell you this because in the past 5 years Cook Automotive has never recommended a repair/replacement that wasn’t absolutely necessary. Often, they suggest reasonable solutions and viable options. We are glad they were recommended to us.

Cook Automotive Repair did an excellent job from explaining their services, verifying the repair I brought my vehicle in for and completing the work in a timely fashion.

Cook was absolutely wonderful to work with. I called around for quotes on getting my front brakes replaced, as well as an oil change. They had fair prices and were very kind and professional on the phone. The person I spoke with was knowledgeable and informative about the repairs and prices. They were able to get my truck in that evening, had the diagnostic ran by early morning and I had my truck with all the repairs within 24 hours. Just wanted to say that this shop is great! I’m only 17 and they were up front about everything with me. They gave me an estimate of about 4 days to replace the struts, tires, and even an alignment. These guys actually got it done a day early and they were busy, unlike some shops where they lie to you and take advantage. Also the price wasn’t horrible. So thank you guys for a great experience.
