Mt. Hood Winery
Located in the beautiful Hood River Valley, Mt. Hood Winery produces award-winning wines cultivated by expert farmers who've been growing fruit on the volcanic soils of Mt. Hood for generations, and perfected by expert winemakers. As steward of this land that has been farmed by my family for over a century, I care very deeply about the wines we produce.
Services
The Bickford family has been growing tree fruit in the Hood River Valley for generations, but since 2000, they've enjoyed a near meteoric rise in the wine business. It's been a steady climb for Mt. Hood Winery. Those initial plantings reached their third leaf in 2002, and the grapes weren't going to turn themselves into wine.
Our Tasting Room is designed in Northwest lodge style, featuring warm cork floors, a custom stone fireplace, and an elegant 30-foot bar with plenty of room for you and your friends. We also have comfortable leather seating around the hearth, table seating, and an expansive patio with arbor for outdoor seating.
The Hood River Valley provides an ideal climate, rich volcanic soils and acreage suited to production of many wine varietals. Our vineyards, and those that supply us grapes feature a variety of topography, weather expose and soil types. Hood Winery is driven by their agricultural history in the valley to create, maintain and respect the vines under our care.
If credit card purchase is desired, call with information or we will follow up by phone or email. Displays aromas and flavors of citrus, ripe apple and lemon zest, along with just a touch of oak creaminess. Serve with halibut, scallops, prawns and roasted pork. Aromas of Asian pear and white peach are accented by bright flavors of crisp apple and pear.
Consider signing up for our Summit Club. Our members receive four bottles of wines, selected by Mt Hood Winery, three times a year, which are delivered to you or available for pick-up in our Tasting Room. Exclusive access to select wines and experiences, including pre-releases, limited production wines and special events.

Outstanding winery with friendly service! We were their last customers for the day on a Saturday and did not feel rushed at all - large indoor room is great for the cold and wet weather too, yet they also have a beautiful view of Mt Hood when the sun is out! Looking forward to going back soon

We got here a little after4pm ... was disappointed the hours are not as listed (5pm close) we were able to order two flights.
The wine was ok to good just not at the price point they were selling at. I guess the 20-30% premium was for the view off in the distant.

What a great escape while on the Hood River Fruit Loop. We had a bunch of places highlighted on the map to explore. But we chose to take our time instead of making it a mad dash afternoon.
We stopped into Mt. Hood Winery and instantly loved the place. It was a bright sunny day and we had a chance to try there flight of wines and also a few more that they just opened. Each wine was tasteful, great flavor, drinkable and fresh. The team at the winery were beyond gracious, and really wanted us to relax and enjoy. I’m so glad we stopped in and took the time to sample each option.
We will be back

MHW was such a pleasant surprise.

Beautiful views of Mt Hood, cozy sitting area outside next to the vineyard, friendly and knowledgeable wait staff, and a delicious assortment of wines.

I really enjoyed my wine tasting and found it hard to narrow down my favorites. I will most definitely be back!

The indoor tasting room is bright with high ceilings, a fireplace on one end and several different seating and gathering spaces. If it's windy or cold, you will most likely have to wait for a table if you want to sot inside. They don't have wait service here; you line up to order and pay at the bar then bring your tasting tray or bottle to your table.

The outside area wraps around the venue on two sides with views of Mt. Hood. If it's a warm day, this is where I prefer to sit, especially if Mt. Hood is wearing her winter snow sweater! There are various seating options with Adirondack

Beautiful views of mount hood. The building has large windows with a gorgeous view. The wine was great, we bought the Pinot noir and the rose. We did not eat here. Wished they told us more about the wine, instead they just poured the flights for us and we took it outside. No biggie though. So pretty

Mt Hood Winery graciously welcomed a group of us celebrating a local bride-to-be on a lovely Friday afternoon. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed award winning wines in their beautiful tasting room and patio. Next time you need a place to celebrate a happy occasion head straight to Mt Hood Winery; you will have a memorable time!

Overpriced tasting with small pours and no customer service. We paid $30 for 2 tastings and left a gratuity prior to receiving our tasting. The bartender poured our tasting and left it on a bar tray on the bar and said "There ya go". We carried it to our table with the info and the staff played with their phones in the distance. No one stopped over, offered any information, or even some water. Been to many tastings and this was by far one of the worst experiences. It's to bad because the wine was very enjoyable.

It took me a while to gather my thoughts and decide how I wanted to word my review of this place. Reading other Yelp reviews in see that there are some "interesting" characters posting here.... and that was my take on the typical patron there: interesting. And I mean interesting in a somewhat pejorative way. That is to say, not exactly my kind of people and I'm sure it's mutual.

I'm not a wine person and, in fact, I rarely drink alcohol anymore. But I have to agree, tongue in cheek, with the Coors light reviewer. I probably would have been happier with a pint of

Mt. Hood Winery is a must-visit gem along the Hood River Fruit Loop. Linda and the staff as a whole are friendly, knowledgeable, and genuine - there is no pretentious air about this winery. The outdoor patio is the perfect place to catch sunshine (shaded areas available, too), mountain views, and experience a relaxing escape from the city. I've been coming here for years and finally became a member. Highly recommended!

Top notch service, amazing wine, and with beautiful views!!!! We had a great experience! We loved the wine and the atmosphere except for a very rude patron (who I see left a nasty review). She was loudly and publicly lecturing one of the owners. Our party was shocked at how this woman was behaving towards the owner. Her rude comments and nasty behavior disturbed many of the other visitors. Infact her demonstration was topic of conversation amongst many strangers after her party left. However, we were pleased at how the owner handled the situation. Not only did she show empathy for the woman&apos

Let me start off by saying that I do not like giving out low-star reviews because I understand what businesses have to go through, but in this case, I think people should really know. If this review was based solely on service, it would have been one star. The only reason I'm giving it two is because the property was amazing. It had a gorgeous tasting room and an even more gorgeous patio that I can only imagine it being amazing during the spring/summer months.

Last week, I wrote a blog post about the three wineries we visited during a recent trip to the Hood River area and one of the wineries

I have been to this winery over 6 times. Today they close at 5 and we got here at 4:15. We were told we had to buy a glass or a bottle and leave by 5. You would think with how many people are here they would allow us to stay and finish our bottle for at least 15 after 5. The lady at the check in table was rude. Every other time has been a great experience but something about her attitude and the way we were told to hurry up was just rude. Pretty disappointed.

This is our second time here, our first was in 2018. This trip was a pre- birthday celebration.

The view of mount Hood from the huge picture window in their tasting room, was the perfect backdrop to a relaxing afternoon sipping some delicious wine.

By far, my favorite was the 2017 Syrah, followed by the merlot.

Treat yourself! This winery is only ten minutes from downtown.

I'm really enjoying the 2017 wine affected by the gorge fire. At least, this is the only thing that came out good from that mess of a situation. Nice place- I was told the tasting room has been around now for 10 years

Nice view of the mountain on a clear day. The wine selection wasn't super impressive. Large outdoor patio in the summer months. The cheese platter we ordered was just honestly sad looking. Wines definitely vary on the sweeter side.

We walked in, were informed of their wine tasting fee, and walked out! US $15 US per person, which is waived with a purchase of TWO bottles of wine. So for my wife and I, it would still cost US $15 after buying two bottles of wine? I don't think so....

We've visited numerous other wineries (Okanagan, Willamette Valley, etc.) and have NEVER seen such exorbitant tasting fees. Many wineries in the Okanagan charge no tasting fee at all.

But we noticed expensive tasting fees at Hood River wineries generally.

We really enjoyed our first visit to Hood River and the Columbia River Gorge

Loved it here! What's better than tasting wine with a gorgeous view! $10 tasting fee gives you 5 tastings. The servers were friendly and informative on the wines. They offered a good selection of reds and whites! The tasting fee is waived if you purchase $50 worth of wine...which is about two bottles. Bottles ranged from $18-$38. The patio area with the lounge chairs was a great place to sit, sip wine and take in the views of Mount Hood and the vineyard. Definitely make it a spot on your next wine tour!

We visited on the 3 day weekend in February and the winery was open for the special weekend but hadn't been open in a while. The parking area is large and set among the fields of vines. There is a cool old building by the parking area too....neat for photography. We were driving a big truck and camper and had no problem getting a spot, we arrived just after they opened. The tasting was $10, waived if you bought 2 bottles. A side note that doesn't apply to many folks, but unfortunately for us we need to watch how much we buy because we are travelling in a truck camper so the overall weight of the
