Buddha Nest Yoga
Buddha Nest Yoga classes combine the physical practice of yoga with the calming aspect of meditation and pranayama (mindful breathing). Yoga has challenged me physically while allowing me to obtain a peaceful meditative state. What is Yin Yoga? Yin yoga is a quiet, mindful and contemplative practice which allows us to open our body, heart and mind into present experiences.

In contrast to the rhythmic, dynamic movement and muscular engagement of an active yang practice, yin yoga embodies our conscious attention and awareness in long held poses, breath by. So often I have visited gyms and even some yoga studios where yoga classes have become about the physical workout, with little or no time spent on meditation practice.
Services
Welcome to Buddha Nest Yoga! Enjoy practicing yoga and meditation in our beautiful studio, conveniently located at 134 Main Street in Groton MA. BNY is a serene, eco-conscious studio designed with students in mind, providing an optimal oasis. Through thoughtful planning and design we have made every effort to be healthy to our bodies and friendly to our environment.
This slow and gentle yoga and meditation practice will help to relax your body and mind, promoting balance and harmony. We will begin with pranayama/breathing and meditation, and then move slowly through floor postures. There are no standing postures in this sequence. The gentle movement helps to prepare the body and mind for deeper meditation.
PRIVATE YOGA training for you or your small group can benefit students of all levels. For beginning students, time spent one on one will ensure that postures are performed safely at your optimal level and in alignment with your individual body, right from the start. Our bodies need different things depending on our biomechanics, injuries and imbalances.
Yoga makes your body feel amazing. The practice of yoga may include physical postures which improve strength, endurance, flexibility and balance, and spiritual aspects including meditation and pranayama (mindful breathing). Mindful attention to the breath is one of the most fundamental differences between yoga and traditional physical exercise, and one of the first steps in learning to meditate.
DO arrive early. Getting to class about 10 minutes early can help you settle in and align your attitude with the purpose of the class. While you're waiting you can practice a pose, do a few stretches, or just sit or lie quietly, breathe, and get centered. DON'T eat for two or three hours before class.

I have been practicing Yoga for quite a few years now and found it to be a great tool for not only physical wellness but mental well being as well. I had discovered the idea of yoga the morning of a wedding back when one of my colleagues got married several years ago and we organized it for the morning of her big day! We then did it for my sister about 5 years ago and this past February it was my turn to walk down the aisle. I searched online for yoga studios close to The Groton Inn and found a wonderful studio just next door to the Inn – Buddha Nest Yoga. Anne was very responsive to my initial

In 2019, I made a real commitment to bring meditation into my life on a daily basis. I am so grateful that I met Anne Dries. From the moment I walked into Buddha Nest Yoga studio, Anne was welcoming and enthusiastic about helping me get started with meditation.
Anne is an AMAZING talent in her UNWIND Meditation classes. She creates her own guided meditations full of imagery and leads you deeper and deeper into the meditation. She has the best yoga pillows and her studio is beautiful. Her students are really nice. UNWIND Meditation class is now my favorite part of the week and I encourage anyone

My friend Karen introduced me to Buddha Nest Yoga studio several years ago and I was immediately taken in. The studio space is warm and inviting as are all of the yoga instructors. Anne is an outstanding owner, instructor and practitioner who adds so many touches that make her studio very special. She offers many levels and types of classes that accommodate a wide range of students. She is always concerned about the well-being of her students and quality of their experience. When I arrive at the studio and settle in on my mat, I feel at home and at peace.
I have introduced many of my friends to

It saddens me to say that I will no choose Buddha Nest for my yoga practice. I hope that they can evaluate their policies in order to be accommodating for everyone but until then I will not be a part of a place that deliberately excludes someone who wishes to practice yoga. My mom and I had planned to attend a class together, something that is special to us since I had lived abroad for some time. My mom was late because she was helping a friend with some personal issues, and when she arrived the door was locked. After knocking on the door, they would not let my mom in to be a part of the practice

Comfort, challenge, warmth defines this wonderful yoga studio for me! I have been a member for four years and thought it was high time for me to show gratitude for a place that provides an oasis from the pulls and tugs of life.
--Comfort in the design and ambiance of the studio from the cork flooring (a major comfort over hardwood) to the simple elegance of the studio design, wall color, dimmable lights, and temperature (warm not hot);
--Opportunity to challenge oneself physically and mindfully within each class;
--Warmth and welcome to all yogis by Anne and her teachers who are knowledgeable

My experience at Buddha Nest Yoga was above and beyond what I expected. The studio was warm and welcoming and the instructors were very knowledgeable. I was new to yoga and a bit apprehensive about my ability. My instructor immediately put me at ease and walked us through each pose helping us individually as well. The meditation was a relaxing way to end the session and one of my favorite parts of the course. I highly recommend Buddha Nest Yoga whether you are a beginner or an advanced yoga participant.

Buddha Nest Yoga is a lovely place. I have attended Anne's yoga sessions since she started teaching yoga, several years before the Buddha Nest Yoga studio opened. Few people share Anne's combined abilities to care for everyone around her, lead interesting yoga sessions, pay attention to business, maintain a warm and pleasant studio, and attract fellow instructors much like her. Yoga sessions at Buddha Nest Yoga are the highlights of my week.

I found Buddha Nest Yoga a couple years ago and so happy I did! After a hamstring injury I knew I needed to stretch more, but didn't realize how much I would enjoy the physical challenge and mindful experience of yoga. Not knowing much about yoga, I feel so fortunate to have landed here. Ann, and staff, are so knowledgeable, welcoming, supportive, encouraging, and understanding of each individual and their needs. She intuitively knows exactly what I’m feeling and speaks to what I need, whether rest or an extra challenge. I’ve learned so much in an active and challenging vinyasa flow, or letting

My choice of Buddha Nest Yoga for my Teacher Training was an easy one. The philosophy, sense of peace, knowledge and kindness you find in this studio is special. With Anne’s degree in Exercise and Physiology and depth of knowledge of the movement aspect of Yoga she has taught us how to balance the science of yoga with the art of teaching. Anne and her assistant teacher Heather gave us the opportunity to graduate with the tools confidence and experience to teach meditation and Pranayamas (breathing techniques) as well as teach and create our own Vinyasa flow, Immersion, and Yin yoga classes.
