Robbins Motel is an affordable lodging choice in Bar Harbor. We are conveniently located just 4 miles north of downtown Bar Harbor, Maine and just 2 miles from the Main Entrance to Acadia National Park. All of our rooms are non-smoking, and we have free wireless internet and cable in all rooms. Enjoy the great outdoors with Acadia's 57 miles of carriage roads or the numerous hiking trails.

It was my first time staying in this type of roadside motel and it received such great reviews that we had to try it.

Had a horrible experience with this motel a while back when we booked several nights over the July 4 holiday through booking.com . When we checked in, the motel claimed that we had no reservation, and all available rooms were taken. As a result, we had to scramble to find another room and ended up going to Bangor, which was an hour away. So instead of driving just 10 min to see Acadia National Park, we drove 1+ hr each way. Be very careful before you book with this motel.

I'm giving Robbins Motel 5 stars not because it is a 5 star motel or even a 2 star motel, but because when I needed a room for 3 nights to visit Acadia NP they had a room available for $89/night when every other hotel was charging over $350/night. You will definitely get what you pay for and nothing more. I had a place to sleep, shower and park my car. Coffee in lobby, ice and mircowave too.The room was clean enough and free of bugs. There is no cooking on the premises, no fire pits. I appreciated my stay. If it had been available I would have enjoyed more luxurious accommodations.

Avoid at all cost,
if you are ok with horrible rooms, poor service this is your place.
if its raining you can expect to be locked out of the office until the rain stops, no microwave or refrigerator in the room, you must go to the office to get your coffee or use the microwave, and if you want ice good luck its just a freezer they fill up and its always empty, no upgrades in decades, the tub is a hazard as its raised up off the floor and a big fall getting out, they are always booked so clearly they are making money, but don't care to invest, if i were the city i would shut it down

It is well priced looks nice on the outside room we booked stated kitchenette we arrive in the room it's small no mini fridge or microwave come to find later it's a shared kitchen in the back of the main building. The bed was as hard as a rock not really able to sleep on it comfortably at all. The TV was broken and the only way you had hot water was to keep Turning it on and off for a moment hoping for a minute of warm water. If you want something cheap go for it but if you want to be well rested have a hot shower and be ready for the day I wouldn't recommend

Robbins Motel an HONEST review:
Let me start by saying that I had read several reviews, both positive and negative about the Robbins Motel. I went in with an open mind hoping for the best and fearing the worst.
Arrival: My wife and I arrived Thursday evening around 7:30 pm. Our key and info was in an envelope taped to the office door along with other guest's envelopes.
The room: We found our room (#6) and opened the door. The room is basic. It had older wood paneling, a built in desk with a large mirror and two small closets on either side, a queen sized bed, wall unit A/C, wall unit heat, a

Barely any hot water...had 1 light in the room on the ceiling that worked...bed was super hard and had sore ribs after spending 2 nights...if I didn't have to pay ahead of time..I never would have stayed here. The room# 22 was 30 ft from the main road and listened to traffic all night. Better to spend more money.

Some of the reviews had me scared to stay here, I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, the room is small - but we just needed a place to crash so it was totally fine. The sheets, towels and bathroom were clean. I didn't inspect the carpet but it seemed clean enough. We called ahead because we were going to arrive late, they were very friendly and accommodating. All in all for a quick stay this was perfect! Location is great, price is right!

Room was small but had all the essentials: a bed, a toilet, and a shower. The tub was a clear safety issue as it was several feet above the ground and requires use of a handle to get in and out. The place had terrible lighting which was good so you couldn’t inspect it for cleanliness. One of the face towels clearly had previously been used as a wash cloth as you could see that it had removed fecal matter in the past. The location is clutch for any Acadia visitor but the accommodations are run down, bug infested, and questionably laundered. I do not recommend.

We were planning on staying at this motel for our family trip, unfortunately, we had an emergency that caused us to have to cancel last minute. I was able to cancel all our other plans once I explained our situation.
Robbins motel would not even return my phone calls or emails and would not work with me at all. I understand that they have a cancellation policy, it just would have been nice if they would have tried to work with us.
I was very unsatisfied with the lack of communication and understanding.

I'm disappointed to see so many poor reviews. For myself, Robbins Motel is the exact kind of spot I look for when I travel. I'm a sucker for simplicity. And that's what this place is all about. Cheap, easy... located right off the road as you make your way towards Acadia National Park. It's great location just 5 miles away.
Quick backstory from my experience.....I was exploring Acadia for an extended 2 night, 3 day getaway weekend earlier this month. When I found Robbins Motel for $50 a night...it was good enough for me.

I wish 0 stars was an option. This was by far the most discusting place I have ever stayed in my life. I've slept in plenty of tents, even lived in Uganda, Africa for a short period of time, and this motel was the worst experience I've ever had.
I'm not picky at all, so I was excited when I saw such a cheap room online. I expected it to be pretty basic/run-down, which was okay with me since it was so reasonably priced! This was unacceptable. We arrived at 8:40pm (it said online that we could check-in anytime before 9:00pm and if it was going to be later, to contact them, so we made

I would like to give the place zero stars. If they offered a refund I would have left after 5 min. We were traveling with a group. All 3 rooms smelled. Two rooms had floors that were wet. After one night a few of us had to find some place else to stay cause of asthma and allergy attacks. They also offer coffee but only during hours the office is open so odds are you will be stopping somewhere to get coffee. Also the staff was not friendly. I have stayed at older motels like this before and never had this bad of an experience.

I was initially quite apprehensive of this motel. It was only about $78 when we booked. But last minute plans and need to travel on a budget was the decisive point.
First impression - it is a motel. Period. No fancy frills and airs about itself. It is very plain and simple. The rooms are really small. But it has the basic necessities. A bed, two closets, one TV, couple of drawers, two bedside tables, AC/Heater, one smaller table close to the bathroom for food and belongings and a bathroom. The rooms do not have any hair dryer or tissue box, so be prepared for that. No refrigerator, microwave

If I could give this a zero, I would. I made my reservation through Motels.com, looked at the pictures and thought, "Wow, affordable quaint NE motel. I actually booked this for 2 nights. It was dark when I got there and I found a note on the office door (with my FULL NAME, MY ROOM NUMBER, AND SAYING MY ROOM WAS LEFT UNLOCKED) . It's dark, and I finally find my room. I open the door and I am in disbelief. Here is what seems a make shift room, with a small heater in the wall (it was 47*). There were 2 lawn chairs in the room and an ice bucket. (No glasses, NO ICE!) The bathroom was an

My husband and I stayed here during our stay in Bar Harbor and had a terrible experience. While the hotel room was clean the service was awful. When we first arrived and I went in to check in the girl behind the desk was incredibly rude and acted like my being there was an imposition. Also we were not aware that check out was 10 am. We got a rude knock on the door at 10:10 am saying that we had to get out of the room or else we would have to pay for the next night. There was not a chance in the world we would want to do that!! If management changed and the people working at the front took some

Stayed here for one night when visiting bar harbor. It's nice and cheap ($50) but in the end probably not worth it. The room reeked of mothballs even after leaving the windows open for a few hours. This would have been easier to overlook had we been able to get a solid night sleep. We were kept up a large part of the night by large animals (raccoons?) running all over the roof.
The rooms, though, were clean and the staff was pleasant. If you decide to stay here I'd recommend avoiding room 1.

Inexpensive for a great location. Bring extra pillows, your own blankets, and something to make the room smell better. Hard bed but it served its purpose. No refrigerator included in the rooms but they have free ice. Wifi didn't work too well only worked about 50% of the time. TV remote didn't work. No dressers to put clothes in but our room had a lot of counter space. We had the room close to the road and the noise didn't bother us. I think we will be back because of the great price and location.

I stayed here for two nights. I signed the paper saying I would not smoke in the room. I did not. I sat outside and smoked then put my buts in the trash. They charged me $250. I argued with them and they said they would refund the money. They didn't. The room was small. The windows don't shut all the way. The road noise was obnoxious. The bathroom is tiny. You can sit on the toilet, wash your hands in the sink and draw a bath, all from your perch. After the overcharge we could have stayed somewhere nice for the money it cost me. The Robbins Motel was exactly what we hoped it would be: a clean room and bathroom, and a comfortable bed. That's it! We stayed there two nights. Never able to connect to the WiFi. the small TV was okay. It was chilly one night, and the small electric heater worked fine. Good location close to Acadia National Park and close to Bar Harbor.

Cheap and tiny, perfect for last minute planners like us. It's probably only a 2 star motel, but I enjoyed its quaint ruggedness while we were staying. We planned on camping, but the rain put a damper on things.
The walls were wood paneled and the tiny bathroom was bubble gum pink with black and white tile which I thought was cool. Linen and room were ver clean and smelled good. The people were nice, I would stay if you are a budget traveler like us. Plus it's right next door to a cool mini golf place.
