The word carat derives from the word carob, a Mediterranean seed, which has an extremely consistent weight for measuring. The greater the carat weight, the rarer, and more valuable the diamond becomes. Five metric carats weighs exactly 1 gram. Some people want the largest diamond possible.

If I could give more stars, I would. Callahan's has been my "go-to" jewelry/gift shop since I moved to NJ in 1988. My sons used to cause havoc when I would take them into the store with me - they are all married and they are customers now also!!! Brian, Gene, Maura and Camilla are the BEST and are like family to my family! Thank you for so many years of excellent customer care!

Best jewelers! I have been going here forever. They have the best selection and the best customer service. I have a charm bracelet with that I will only entrust to them. And when the 78 year old locket I inherited from my grandma broke, I would only take it to them. They even helped me replace a ring box for one of my actors in a play! 5 stars all the way! Lovely service, only $7 to put a battery in a watch-you can’t beat that! The people are so nice and put the battery in quickly. I was in and out the door in about 10 minutes. They have been around for years and I cannot recommend them enough. They also have a discounted retired Swarovski items which is awesome! Thank you Callahan Jewelrs for giving life back in my favorite Disney watch!!
