My nephew is getting married on Saturday. I thought I was all set to attend. I had the dress, the bag, the shoes, etc. My girlfriend even ordered earrings for me with stones that matched the dress perfectly. However, I neglected to try the earrings on! Brought my screw back diamond earrings in because I lost a back. Instead of just telling me they could not help me or that they do not work with screw back earrings. I was told screw back earrings are disgusting something about bacteria and a nail. A simple- we can't help you would have been fine and I would have continued to bring my business here. But to be lectured and told my beautiful earrings are disgusting... guess I'll take my business elsewhere.

Unfortunately I agree with other reviewers that the service can be condescending. My husband bought me an expensive David Yurman bangle and repeatedly snapped open and fell off from the day I received it. They soldered a safety chain to it without charge. One day later the chain broke. Maybe the chain should have been heavier. What bothered me most was being told I should be more careful with my jewelry. Sorry, but I dress, go to work, come home and make dinner. Not a rough life.

I recently got engaged and my fiancé purchased my ring at LaViano with Bert's guidance. There aren't enough words to describe how much I love my ring. While visiting my Mom this Spring, she took me to Laviano's Jewelry Store where her wedding band was custom made. Now, having arthritis, it no longer fits her so now it's mine !!! My Mom wanted to especially introduce me to Trudy, who assisted and helped her decide on the style and design, many years ago. I worked closely by telephone with Jeanne in order to purchase my item. She was an absolute pleasure to work with...I have purchased 2 items now and am so pleased. Buying jewelry is a very personal thing and the experience has to be positive because one associates the buying experience with the energy that comes from wearing the piece. A few weeks ago, I took a simple David Yurman bracelet in because the clasp no longer had "spring" to it. Though they no longer carried Yurman, but they said they could send it in for an estimate on the repair. A few weeks later, the salesman called to inform me the estimate was over $300. As the replacement value on the bracelet is about $600, I refused the repair. When I went in to pick up my bracelet, they told me another option was that they repair it in house; they'd cut off the clasp and solder on a generic lobster clasp. That repair would run about $120. I agreed to it, though

What a great choice it was to stop in Laviano Jewelers. Jeanne was extremely helpful in assisting me with choosing an engagement ring. As a guy, we are usually not that familiar in this department and you can… get ripped off real fast if you do not do your homework. That was not the case at this store. There were plenty of options available in all different price ranges and all the information about each stone was laid out in front of me. Thank you for making this such an easy process.

By far the absolute worst experience I have ever had in any establishment. Nasty, rude, and condescending. I will never step foot into this store again, and will make sure everyone I know will also never walk in either.
I was yelled at and called names for asking to be present at the sizing of an heirloom ring. A simple that is not our policy would have sufficed. I would have said thank you and left. Perhaps cranky old men should not talk to customers, that is if you have any left after I spread the word.
I actually would not even give this place 1 star, none would be better.
