Formica Brothers Bakery legacy began in 1919 when Francesco Formica opened the bakery with his wife Rosa bringing his legendary hand-crafted breads to Atlantic City from Italy. In 1928 Francesco moved the bakery to its current location (2310 Arctic Avenue), building a state of the art brick oven that the family kept burning continuously until 1988.
In 1987 Frank D. Formica (grandson) purchased the business from his uncles and father. The secret is in the water that comes from below the New Jersey Pinelands. We LOVE Formica's Bakery!
If you have never tried their Lemon Ricotta cookies, you have NOT truly lived! They are so addictive.
They have a sizeable selection of goods that is always changing with the seasonal specialties, but most things are available fresh every day! Try their Parker rolls; they make the perfect bun for sliders! The assorted biscotti and Linzer cookies are also some personal favorites.

Purchased a ready made birthday cake , vanilla buttercream and vanilla cake. This cake was beautifully decorated and sorry to say that was the main positive about my purchase. I love icing but that was all the cake was, 3 layers of mounds and mounds of icing . Approximately 90% icing 10% cake .To me and my guest it was a huge disappointment.

I stopped in this little unassuming bakery this morning and was blown away with the selection and quality of the baked goods and the friendliness of the staff. Wasn't sure what I wanted so the woman helping me suggested a few items. I got a raspberry white chocolate bread pudding, chocolate biscotti, and iced coffee. Everything was super affordable. The coffee was masterfully prepared, the biscotti was delicious and firm but not so hard you felt like you would break your teeth, and the bread pudding was delicious and had various textures other than soggy (a common issue!). What a disappointment and waste of money!! Everything in the shop looked great. Unfortunately what I purchased was not good at all. The cannoli cupcake had been refrigerated which made the cake very sticky and It was pretty much tasteless. The pizza which got really good reviews was given to me cold. You would have thought they would have warmed it up, maybe its a south Jersey thing to serve cold pizza?? Lastly the Easter bread was horrendous . Hard, tasteless, and there was a hard boiled egg beneath part of the crust!! OMG, how disgusting. It looked like candy and if I had known it was

On the way to have a Casino weekend I remembered this bakery off the beaten path. It's a very cute bakery with all the essentials which includes, Italian baked goods and espresso, cappuccinos and coffee. I noticed they had some chocolate covered strawberries and I got hubby a nice personal sized strawberry & chocolate cheesecake. It smelled great here and the lady behind the counter was really nice. I noticed they had "chocolate bombs" which are chocolate balls filled with marshmallows. You heat up milk,pour it over and you have a cup of hot chocolate! It's a great idea

Ordered a birthday cake and picked up today. It was the worst cake I have ever had. This opinion was shared by all 6 of us. It was wet and gross. It was very pretty decorated but that is where it ended. Can't believe they sell this. Didn't ask for a rum cake (cause I hate this) but that is what the consistency of it. Never going there again. Also got a tiramisu for Christmas and also didn't like that.

Searching for non- Starbucks coffee in Atlantic City, I found this place through yelp. The make delicious fresh bread, serve Seattle's best coffee and have an array of desserts and pastries. I had the banana nut cake which was moist and delicious! I also tried the fruit bar which was excellent! It's a mix of a blonde brownie and a soft granola on top! Surprisingly good! They also serve these round rolls that people were eating with cream cheese/ I didn't have one, but since everyone in the place was stuffing their face- they must be good! Support your local owners! Nice coffee shop

Formica is 5 stars all around. Conveniently located across the street from White House subs Formica is an Atlantic City institution.
The Italian pastries are wonderful especially the Cannolis which are stuffed fresh, the cream is perfect and the shells are crunchy as they should be. The fresh Italian bread is outstanding. Tomato pies are a top seller as are their chocolates. Nothing to better than a cannoli after a White House sub.
