Services
Vision isn't just about seeing well - it's about how we interpret and interact with the world visually. Effective vision comes down to the way the brain and eyes interact. Whether reading words on the board, catching a ball, or tying our shoelaces, we rely on our visual system to work properly in order to succeed in these and other tasks.
Vision is fundamentally a function of the brain. The way we process depth, direction, speed, and color contrast all comes down to how the brain interprets the information the eyes provide. Traumatic brain injury such as a concussion or stroke, or diseases such as MS, cerebral palsy, or chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), can result in potentially devastating visual problems.
Send us the patient name, phone number, reason for referral and a copy of the most recent comprehensive eye exam. We will prescribe for them specialized lenses, prisms, tints and occlusion to help patients with visual awareness and gait issues. These lens systems may make a very quick and radical positive change for the patient.
The Mission of In Depth Vision Optometry is to teach each patient to use all the visual processing they have available to dynamically and efficiently perceive and engage in the environment around them. We will use all the resources available to provide an atmosphere that enables learning and encourages growth - whether physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually.

Dr. O, Jackie, Elsa, Becky and Jane... you have no idea how much your expertise, encouragement and help is appreciated. I can remember crying at the first appointment feeling like I didn’t know how to help my son. Teachers said he was smart but there was some disconnect between his ability to read/see things and his brain. He was often caught staring out the window. In Depth Vision really helped with the myriad of issues I walked through the door with, 7 months ago; some stemming from my teen years (I'm 48 now), and others, the result from hitting my head in Feb. I just completed vision therapy at In Depth Vision. It has been tremendously helpful in getting my vision back to normal. Dr. Odineal has my trust. She is incredibly experienced and skilled in her field. The visual system is extremely complex and it was very reassuring to have a knowledgeable doctor monitor my progress and help me improve. I came to Dr. O's office on the recommendation from my boss. I had been experiencing double vision and my left eye would sort of skitter around / not be able to focus, especially when I was tired/stressed. This became so bad that simple tasks like driving and grocery shopping were tiresome and depressing. I decided I had not much to lose and enrolled in the 5 month program; I just graduated last week and my vision has improved beyond belief. Dr. O reviewed the testing numbers with me from before I started and now and every category showed a huge improvement. I am so thankful this place

Dr. Odineal was able to increase my vision efficiency from 20% to 80%. Before therapy I had limited peripheral vision and rarely used both eyes at the same time. The office has an impressive array of advanced equipment and offers a large selection of tools and exercises that deliver results. The staff is very friendly and professional. I would recommend that anyone take the initial vision assessment, even if they feel they don't have any serious issues.

We are happy with our experience with In Depth Vision Optometry. The assessments were done with a complete review of symptoms, and specialized equipment to help with the diagnosis of the reading problem. Before the assessment, we were wondering if it was a learning/reading disorder issue, or an eye convergence issue , and the assessments answered that. The staff listened and helped us with treatment issues as they came up. They have COVID protocols for safety. I was amazed when my daughter told me she just finished reading an 800 page book.

The staff is loving and kind, my daughter and I feel at home when we enter the building. You can tell that everyone at In Depth Vision is passionate about what they do, and they genuinely care about those that they are helping.
My daughter was recommended to In Depth Vision due to having some head trauma that caused her to not see well, lose balance and delayed her reading and comprehension; she also had regular headaches. Eight months of vision therapy with Dr. O, and my kiddo is now confident in reading, is able to maintain balance, no longer wear bifocals, and is no longer suffering from headaches

As a kid I had strabismus surgery to correct an inward turning left eye. It was a success cosmetically, but I never did any post surgical rehab for it. Since then, during the last 26 years, I've had trouble reading for any sustained amount of time. Studying through college got to be such a bear if there were large reading assignments. I saw an eye doctor who diagnosed and described the imbalance in muscles to me, and I ended up getting extra time on tests, and so forth. It wasn't until I was referred to Dr. Odineal's practice, however, that I learned there was actually a solution

I will be forever grateful to Dr. Odineal, Liz and Jane at In Depth Vision. I spent one day a week with them for the better part of a year and they feel like family now. As a child I was diagnosed with stabismus and wore glasses or contacts to help correct my crossed eye my entire life. As an adult I started noticing the crossing more and I wasn’t able to control it anymore.
