Exterior components are often the most neglected parts of a home.
The primary purpose of a roof is to protect the building from rain, snow, sun and wind. Roofs also affect the appearance of a building. Roofs provide some mechanical protection against falling objects, although hail damage for example, is common. Roof coverings are not intended to keep out the cold.
Electricity has become an important element of every home. It provides lighting, heating and power for electric motors and electronics such as controls and computers.
