Ganesha, the Hindu god with the head of an elephant and the body of a human, symbolizes health, happiness, and wisdom. When Ganesha dances, she removes obstacles on the path to success. We named the studio The Dancing Elephant to capture the spirit of a healthy and vibrant life for all. Community is what we are all about.
We are a group of passionate, kind, creative and experienced instructors offering classes in downtown Rockland, Maine and online via Zoom. We look forward to practicing with you. If you are a teacher and would like to chat about teaching possilibities at the studio, please contact Rachel at [email protected] or 207-594-1694.
Between 2018-2020, Rachel partnered with Coastal Opportunities in Camden to bring clients to yoga classes at the studio. Rachel also taught a special Art & Yoga class with the CO clients. The Dancing Elephant partnered with the Knox Clinic to host free classes on Wednesdays. The teachers generously volunteered their time to offer these programs.
Our schedule is subject to change. Please check the website or our Facebook page regarding changes, cancellations, and studio holidays/closings. Weather cancellations: If hazardous weather conditions or power outages occur, the studio will close to ensure everyone's safety. Please check the website or our Facebook page two hours before class.
I have an injury or health condition? Please check with your doctor first. When you are cleared, please let your teacher know about your condition and make any modifications necessary to practice safely. I am menstruating? This is a personal choice. If you wish to practice, avoid inversions and heat-producing breathwork, especially during heavy flow.
