Services
Joseph Nolan, the founder of Colander-Nolan Eye Clinic, graduated from St. Rita High School in 1942. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served as a fighter pilot in World War II.
After serving his country Dr. Nolan graduated from Illinois College of Optometry in 1949 and opened his first practice in the Brainerd Community, The Nolan practice moved to 95th and Cicero, Oak Lawn, Illinois in the Green Oaks Shopping Center in 1958.Dr. Joseph Nolan was a prominent Oak Lawn Optometrist and Contact Lens Specialist.

Dr. Colander is a Southside native from Queen of Martyrs Parish and a graduate of Brother Rice High School. He obtained his Bachelors of Science degree from Loyola University Chicago. After earning his degree form Illinois College of Optometry, Dr. Colander completed an ocular disease residency providing care to veterans at the Huntington VA Medical Center in Huntington.

One of the most patient doctor and staff I have seen. Very understanding how it is to have kids running around the place. Will recommend to family and everyone, especially if they have kids. Also accepts state Medicaid for exam and glasses which is a huge plus. A lot of places in the area rarely accept that. Would give more than 5 stars if I could!

The doctor is great! I have a problem with their staff. A lot of them have attitudes and I had to go back and forth to the place over 5 times to get a simple rebate taken care of. They couldn’t email or mail it to me right and i had to keep going personally in there back and forth to get every detail fixed that the rebate asks for. So when the office offers you a rebate and knows what they should provide why make it so difficult for the customer in the first place. A doctors office is successful if their staff and customer service is professional.
