I went to the office without being able to do much research besides some quick searching. They were able to squeeze me in next day which was perfect for me! My appointment was with Dr. Henrix. He seems annoyed to be there,, but my insurance was going to end with my company the next day so I didn’t much mind lol. I explained to him my issues, I was looking for tretinoin for anti aging benefits, I wanted to check 2 beauty marks that popped up out of no where, and I have gotten strange cystic pimples(1 every six months or so) on my chest for a few years now that have scarred and haven’t been able

I can't recommend this dermatology office enough! The phone system is easily navigated. The front office staff is friendly and efficient. Scheduling is easy.
I see Shirien Coover, PA-C, for my skin health needs. She has taken care of me for close to 10 years, seeing me through many different problems from acne to sun burns to dangerous moles. I highly recommend seeking an appointment with her.
Something nice about this office is that I've been able to get appointments quickly when I notice an issue I'm concerned about.
The office is located in a quiet medical building in a safe, quiet neighborhood

Shiriene is very knowledgeable. My baby had a rash for over three months and the pediatrician gave us stuff that didn’t work. She prescribed us a miracle oil that cures him within 3 days. She also called two days after we visited to find out how the baby was doing. Amazing friendly staff provided same day appointment as my son was in extreme discomfort. Will only go to them for the entire family dermatological needs!

My regular doctor wanted me to get spot on my back checked and recommended Shirien Coover, PA-C. After looking at a few other dermatology offices, I came back to Central Austin Dermatology because of that recommendation and because they were very up front about costs on their website. In fact, I think they were the only office that listed prices.
I had never been to a dermatologist before and was a bit anxious about having the scrape biopsy. Shirien was extremely nice and made me feel very comfortable. To keep me distracted during the procedure, I asked her to share how she got into dermatology

I will not be going back to Dr. Hendrix. My new patient appointment with him was a waste of my time and my money. He was not up to date with the latest treatment options available for my condition, was not empathetic about my condition, did not look me in the eye during my appointment, talked about another patient throughout my appointment, and hence was not focused on the reason I was there. He was careless, lazy, and not personable. Overall a bad and disappointing experience. I would not recommend him to others.

I've been going to Dr. Hendrix for years. I think he has an excellent bedside manner. He is kind and thorough. Something important to note is that yelp Nots his ours as beginning as 7:30 AM. His office does not open until 8 AM. They will not answer phones for appointments until 8 AM. Highly recommended dermatologist.

I went to Dr. Hendrix to evaluate my hormonal acne situation. I really liked how he took the time to consider all of the possible contributing factors I was telling him about. (I've struggled with an annoying/frustrating battle with hormones and acne for years, so it's an emotional topic.) He and his staff were friendly from start to finish. He also took time to explain exactly what a particular type of oral medication does in the human body, (I was curious and I asked.) I made a spur of the moment decision while there to ask if he could help me with some broken capillaries I've had on my cheek

Absolutely terrible doctor. Either lazy or could care less about his patients because when I went for a bi-annual checkup he started to leave the exam room without even looking at my skin. When I ask him if he was going to perform the exam his answer was, "we can do it next time". I still got billed for a full office visit - unacceptable !

The receptionist who I tried to make an appointment with and have a prescription refilled was so rude I will not return to Dr. Hendrix. I really liked him at the first appointment. Too bad the staff is so rude to customers over the phone. You never know what the situation is and would be nice to be helpful and nice to people.

I was a patient of Dr. Hendrix for about a year. His receptionist never smiles and can be rude. She insists that you sign a form that guarantees you will pay any charges not covered by insurance EVERY TIME YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT. I am fortunate to have excellent insurance and finally spoke with his billing person about this, but there was apparently no communication to the front desk and I was still forced to sign that form every time I had an appointment. It's insulting. She insisted that you have to pay for all charges above and beyond your co-pay upfront and then they will send you

Dr. Hendrix is awesome! I had to have melanoma removed which was about a 45 minute process. Dr. Hendrix was very personable and we had a great conversation about technology and quantum entanglement while he was taking a sizeable chunk from my back haha. Very happy with the service I received, and had I not moved to San Antonio, I would most definitely visit him for regular cancer screenings. Highly recommended.

I have been seeing Dr. Hendrix for about 5 years and I used to love the service and attention. However, after they've moved, I noticed the service and care has greatly decreased. I called to make an emergency appointment and I was told I wouldn't be able to see Dr. Hendrix, but they'd place me with someone else. So I got to the location to find the person I was seeing isn't even a medical doctor. I accepted this and sat down to wait in the waiting room. I waited, and waited and waited. I saw many patients come and go. I waited for an hour and they said sorry for the hold up

Went in to have a cyst removed. Wait time was under 5 minutes, which is unheard of at any medical facility. The nurse was extremely personable and professional (wish I remembered her name to give her credit). Dr. Hendrix was flawless with his procedure. Literally took 5 minutes for him to numb, cut, remove the entire cyst and bandage it up.
Coming from a family of physicians I can honestly say this is one of the most professional encounters I've had at any office.

Jay Hendrix is awesome. I've been going to him for forever.
His staff is mostly good. They are much better in person than on the phone. But when you are there they are kind. Don't judge them by how the phone part goes.
Other than that I've been very pleased. Also he has ridiculously soft hands when you shake his hand. I guess I should expect that from a dermatologist but dang. Haha

I drove two hours for my appointment with Dr. Hendrix and I will not be making that drive again. I have been working with many Estheticians and they all advised me to see a dermatologist about my acne problem. I have changed my diet, laundry detergent and all cleansers. Dr. Hendrix was in the same room with me for maybe five minuets and told me he was running behind and left. I am very disappointed with how little he seemed to care about what was going on with my skin. He prescribed me antibiotics and told me to come back in three weeks.
