Off the starting portion of Richmond Highway, El Pollo Ranchero is tucked away between a T-Mobile and Applebee's. My husband and I came in with the intentions of eating in but most tables were full so we opted on take out (it was also Saturday around noon so, go figure).
Our orders were taken immediately and we waited about 15 minutes for the order to be complete.
To be honest, overall the food was alright. I got the dark meat quarter chicken with beans and fries (I found some straw yucca fries in the mix) and was disappointed to not find the delicious green and yellow sauces that are usually

I love the food here! I have been a loyal costumer with this restaurant for 2 years now. The staff there have really disappointed me. Instead of making my food in a timely fashion manner the lady in the kitchen with other staff members decided to come walk behind the bar just to talk about me in Spanish while the whole staff looked at me and my boyfriend. Iโm bringing them business and yet they wanna talk about things thatโs none of their business while the owner or thatโs who I think it was stood there at the front cashier just listening. I would of never had a problem with this restaurants

We placed a large order for our daughters graduation party. We frequent here so we know that we always enjoy the food, The staff was extremely helpful in placing the order even helping us get the food to the car, really above and beyond. And everyone at the party was more than impressed with the food and wanted to know where we got it. So I would definitely recommend if youโre just going to eat for the day or if you need a large party done

Great spot to pop in for a quick lunch! Great combos and quality food! I had a pupusa, yucca, quarter white chicken, rice and beans and everything was perfectly seasoned and not overly cooked!! Also the kicker was the server, Karen, was so friendly! I will definitely be back to try more!! Yum yum yum

This is my FAVORITE spot to do take out lunch when I'm up in Alexandria. In Charlotte we have Viva Chicken. Those restaurants introduced me to the awesomeness that is Peruvian rotisserie chicken and I'm always looking for these kinds of places on the road. El Pollo is SPOT ON. Healthy portions of good fresh roast chicken with Latin sauces and the most delicious yuca fries. You can tell that they are cooking this food with love. I can't recommend Lunch Combo #1 enough!! Also, the flan. Absolutely delicious.
Don't skip on this awesome spot. Filling and good for you :)

Location close to Ft Belvoir, VA, I found by using Yelp. The reviews were good, but it failed to deliver.... The staff was nice but service was slow, we had to ask for water and salsa/ chips. The menu had quite a bit to choose from, I tried to keep it simple by ordering combination fajita's.
I will keep this simple, not good. The fajitas had tomato sauce and the meat tasted like rubber. Maybe Im used to southern cooking, I couldn't finish my meal, SMH. Ive eaten at many Mexican restaurants all over the world and I cant even... I dont have this issue in Texas, California or any Southern

We've eaten here twice and enjoyed it both times. The staff is friendly and prompt. It doesn't look that big from the outside, but once inside there's plenty of space.
The food is good too. This last time we ordered only from the appetizer menu as we weren't that hungry, but still had plenty of food.
The ceviche was our least favorite. Only the fish meat tasted as though it had been soaking in the lemon. The shrimp and squid were bland. My wife liked the chicken floutas while I liked the yucca with pork and cabbage.
We will most likely come back again at some point as we

Been going to this place for years, ever since I came to the US, I've always received good service and the food is always delicious. Went with my dad and husband recently and my husband ordered a steak fajita and he received something that looked more like bistec with tomatoes sauce on top, back in the day that's not how it was. I guess they changed it, other then that everything is always great๐๐

I have been here many time and am a huge fan of this place. They start off with complimentary chips and salsa. They chips are heavier than the norm with a crunch and mild salsa with notes of onion and spices. I ordered the Tipico #1 which comes with quarter Peruvian chicken, pupusa, yucca, beef empanada and beans and rice. The price is 9.99 are they they out of their mind to give you that much food for that price? Even people with hardy appetites will be taking home some of their menal.
There are dipping sauces on the table to put on your chicken. Not sure what the sauce is but it's

It was ok pretty good. Not the best chicken I've had but it was pretty up there. The complimentary chips and salsa were a good starter. I ordered the quarter chicken white meat, cole slaw, and yucca. The yucca was perfect! The cole slaw was slightly sweet like I love it. And the chicken was very tasty as well. The sauces are on the table for you. The tres leches cake was pretty good and standard. Overall I'd come back to this place for a decent, somewhat healthy lunch. Oh and the price wasn't bad either. Only 7.95 for the quarter chicken and two sides! Great customer service as well

I came for the rotisserie chicken and left disappointed. This place had 4 stars on yelp, there is a big chicken on the sign, and it had every indication of being another quality Peruvian style chicken place. It was not.
When you walk into a good Peruvian / rotisserie chicken place you are always greeted by a large rack of fresh birds going around the rotisserie. They have to do that to keep up with the demand. When I did not see any chicken being cooked upon entering I was skeptical, but I tried it anyway.
The chicken was mostly dry and pretty bland. It was not bad chicken, by any means
