Parents of young children who live or work near downtown Fort Lauderdale now have additional educational and social opportunities with the opening of the New River Child Care/Learning Center. The 10,800 sq. New River, just north of Broward Boulevard on NW 7th Avenue, is the new name and home for Tutor Time Fort Lauderdale, a family-owned business that was at the base of the office tower at 100 SE 3rd Avenue for two decades.
The Ajakie family will continue to provide kid-focused care and education, as they and their staff have since 1994, and are the driving forces behind the move to the new location. The New River Child Care/Learning Center is accredited by APPLE and Gold Seal and recently had a 100% VPK readiness rate among nearly 30 children who graduated in 2013.

Services
Although the look of the building and name may be different than the previous location, the experienced teaching staff and Ajakie family owned operators are the same and always on site to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all the children in their care. The spacious design of the classrooms and age-appropriate learning materials provide the perfect backdrop for children to develop socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically.
At New River our teachers are trained in perceiving the needs of this age group. Two year olds have a mind of their own that stems from their growing independence. This stage of development is exciting as you watch the gift of language blossom before your eyes. Vocabulary building is at an increased peak and words are being formed rapidly.
This year our school is celebrating its 27th year anniversary providing quality child care and early learning education in downtown, Fort Lauderdale. This includes the 20 years at our previous location (Tutor Time Child Care). Our school participates in the Labels For Education program. We are collecting the labels from Campbells, Pepperidge Farms, Prego, Danimals, BiC, Glad, Pop-Secret, Post and many more products.
Thank you for helping me raise Isla. She has spent so much time with you I have come to love each of you. I can not express my gratitude enough for the peace I have everyday knowing she is happy, safe, and learning at school while I am away at work. Open Visiting Policy: We have an open door policy in place that allows our current parents to visit or "check-up" on their child as often as needed. The school hallways have windows for parents to view their child's interactions at any time without being seen by their child. Parents are encouraged to participate in special school activities and holiday parties.

I love New River Child Care and I absolutely recommend it. The staff is amazing, friendly caring and very professional. I highly recommend it! Both of my kids started going to New River Child Care since they were six months old and we stayed all the way until they had to go to kindergarten. The Classrooms and playground are great, fully equipped with the learning and playing tools kids need for every learning and development stage. School is always clean and in great conditions. Both my kids love going back, had great teachers and made great friends!!!

I have 4 kids here. One is leaving for kindergarten and I am so sad.
This place is ran impeccably. Family owned and operated. Staff that has been there for years for a reason. There is a long wait for a reason and they are the best. The infant program has saved me and I am so appreciative of how they always cared for my kids

My daughter started at New River when she was 2yrs old. After 3 failed attempts at finding the right childcare facility we found our place! The owners and staff were so welcoming and loving from day 1. They all truly became like family to us. To top it off, the classroom activities, art and curriculum are outstanding! They definitely helped more than prepare her for kindergarten next week ☺️

New River Child Care was such a great experience for my daughter and our family. My daughter started at the school when she was just 3 months and we recently left when she was 2.5 because we moved to Orlando. The owner and teachers truly care about the development of these children. My daughter is far well advanced for her age due to the curriculum and teaching being delivered in such a fun and engaging way. I am so happy that we were able to be a part of the New River Family and so thankful for all of their hard work!

Both of my kids started here at 3 months old and I will be forever grateful to Matt, Nicki, Kristie and ALL of the amazing caregivers and teachers who work there. It feels like a family and my kids were loved and cared for as such. It is safe, impeccably clean, well maintained and a great learning environment. We will truly miss walking through the New River doors everyday and seeing everyone's smiling faces!

5 Stars all around! New River is more than just childcare - they become your family! The owners and staff are the most amazing, kind and loving people. They truly treat your child as if they were their own. It is clean and has a great structure that helps your baby grow and learn just at 3 months. Due to being relocated for work, we had to sadly say goodbye to new river but right before we moved I was admitted to the hospital for emergency surgery. New River welcomed our baby back to help us out with no questions asked. They even offered assistance with picking him up and dropping him off at our

We absolutely love New River Child Care! The staff and teachers treat us like family and have been very accommodating to our needs. Our 2.5 year old son loves going to school everyday to see his friends and teachers. We're constantly amazed by the progress he's making in class. We love hearing him tell us about his day every night over dinner.
We also have a daughter in the infant room and can't rave enough over the teachers! They're so nurturing and loving with all of the babies! I've stopped in a few times mid day to check in and my daughter seems genuinely happy! We highly recommend New River
