This place would have received a better review but for 1 very important issue. There was no ability to lock the windows on an easily externally accessable window. There was simply no catch for the lock to engage. And when we voiced that and asked for a room change the owner actually said "really, whose gonna break in" and didn't want to change our room. It's a resort area. When we looked at other external windows, in total 3 rooms had windows with no locks to engage. Definitely a severe safety concern

This was an absolutely horrible experience. I have stayed here years before and it was always dated but always clean. Our room had tons of water damage, dirt and dust. When we checked in, we were told there was no house keeping and we needed to put our trash and towels outside the door. No housekeeping was apparent. My husband pulled out the night stand and we found pills behind it and years of dust. When we told the owner, it was obvious she did not believe us. She barged in the room when we were packing to see the pills. The only good part of our experiencing was leaving. Would never recommend

This was the worst accomadation i have ever had. We stayed in Rm 23, soon we open the door it was smell mold. My husband couldn't sleep whole night, then we have to cut our vacation early. Husband got so sick and gotta come back home early. Asked for refund but the management refused to listen the complaints. Saying that the room was brand new renovation. What a liar. Now I've learned a lesson don't never get accomadation unles you look first the review.

We found these reviews misleading. We booked this place because the reviews mostly said it was decent basic accommodations with a great view of the ocean. We did have a great view from the second floor but much the hotel itself is dirty and run down, and in need of renovation and repairs. I did not feel very comfortable here due to the extensive soiling on the outdoor carpets and soiling and damage inside our room, and would not go back. If you stay on the 2nd floor you will encounter a very dirty soiled, ripped up, duct taped, blue outdoor carpet, which should be pulled up immediately and thrown

Stayed here for my 30th birthday weekend with my girlfriends. Upon arrival, the minute I walked into the office I was asked "How old are you?" by the owner. It was abrupt and rude. I understand the under 25+ policy but I just think it could be handled more professionally. The room smelled like smoke but the bedding was clean. There was an old bar of soap opened in the shower from the previous guests. VERY basic motel. It was cheap and met our needs for location to everything (Washington Street, Restaurants, Congress Hall).

These were the worst accommodations that I have every had. I stayed in room 21. The toilet leaked onto the floor. There was no wifi for the entire time of our stay. When I made the front office aware, I was told that they could only turn off the router and hope that it would work, There was one channel on our TV. Luckily we brought disinfectant spray because the room didn't look clean and the linen had an odor. I would not recommend this place to anyone, nor will i ever stay here again.

If I could give 0 stars I would. We are from Cape May originally and came down for a quick weekend trip, we booked for two nights. When we checked in we did not go right to our room, we went to see family, and went and had dinner and drinks. Had I gone into the room immediately after I checked in, I would have demanded a refund. The room was disgusting, the smell of mildew was horrible. I thought maybe it was just the air filter, so we checked the air conditioner it was clean. With nowhere else to stay we were forced to stay the night. We took the old blanket which had holes in it off the bed.

The smell of the mildew !!! Nice location but the smell in the rooms just terrible .The motel needs renovation ! Amazing location good price but the mildew smell terrible ! i had all the windows open but someone downstairs was smoking outside so u had to close all ... If just this motel got some fresh paint new bed sheets. I would give more stars .

If you do not smoke, do not stay here. Smoking everywhere. The housekeepers are dedicated but poorly treated, overworked, and unable to clean as necessary. The general facility maintenance is sadly lacking. The pool was green and not usable. The manager was rude, abusive, loud, and crass. Due to all of these factors, we left early and and unfortunately cannot recommend Colton court. We will never stay there again!

Wow, I must say this was quite an experience. Preface: you get what you pay for, but there's camraderie like I've never seen before at Colton court...people who genuinely found their niche and mesh well together.

Old rooms, old beds- the most unconfortable beds.....and the owner:( once you check out , can not use the promises, can leave your car .....good luck running your business....
We check out at 10am. asked if we could come back to the pool after lunch.....was told no - once I checked out I am out ......can even leave my car at their parking spot....I asked if we could leave to 2pm , just for the new customers check in (check in is bet 2pm - 4pm) ....was told no.....very rude , unfriendly service....

It wasn't as bad as some of the other reviews. The lady, Jennifer(?), was Really nice. I wasn't expecting the 14% sales tax, apparently city and state tax. Yes the wallpaper is coming off the walls a bit but not bad. The mattresses Do need updating because I sat on the one my son was sleeping on and I felt it almost fold in half. The bathroom is nice and updated. I really liked that the sink was outside the bathroom (we did not have the kitchenette room). We had a breezeway corner room and despite people smoking outside the rooms, and lack of wifi, I would stay here again.

We wanted a last minute long weekend getaway and had our hearts set on Cape May. Colton Court was the only hotel that had three nights available in a row(wasn't in the same room though). Even though the reviews seemed harsh we decided to form our own opinion and go. I am glad we did. The hotel is outdated in some areas and the front desk lady is different but the hotel was clean and she was sweet. The bathroom for our king bed ocean view room was updated and very nice. I wasn't expecting a four star hotel given proximity to the beach and nightly rate but this fell way below my expectations. It was musty, the bed linens were not just outdated but discolored and although non-smoking smelled like an ashtray. The free wifi did not work, sink leaked as did the shower and the beds were so uncomfortable I could feel the springs. I've spent $230 to stay in nice hotels in both Philly and NYC so this was completely not worth it and wished I would have spent $30 more and stayed at a different hotel. Ok, let's put things into perspective here. Great location, across the street from the beach. Cost, good price for cape may but room can only accommodate 4 people. Parking, 1 car per room. The pool, small and dirty but the beach right across the street. Now for the kicker. The room, worst beds you could imagine, super uncomfortable. The pull out sofa is like laying on a bunch of rocks sprinkled with thumb tacks. If this place would just upgrade their beds and improve on their customer satisfaction I would give them 3 stars. Forget everything else in the room cuz that's a lil shanty too
