BlackHorse was born out of an idea that coffee and community go together and after 10 years this idea is still just as true. The company was created with the intention of providing a fun and comfortable atmosphere for members of the community to hang out and enjoy a great cup of coffee. Today, BlackHorse has expanded to offer four locations and an exclusive bakery.

Stopped here on a road trip. Breakfast burrito was gross. Tasted like a Microwaved 7-11 burrito with American cheese. Took one bite and tossed it. I expect more in California. Oat scone was cold like it was in the refrigerator from the previous day. Dont eat here. I would have rather had McDonalds than that.

Was going home from hospital and needed a coffe badly! Stopped by BlackHorse and excellent coffee had bought a breackfast somthing and Henery was so busy he was kind enough to stop and heet it up for me, I left before it was ready, he came running out to get me, but too late. Icalled back when I got home Henrey was very apologetic and said next time I came in he would buy me a coffee. We need more Henery's in our lives!

I don't know why I keep coming here. It's always awful, disappointing service. I ordered a breakfast panini. Tipped a dollar and paid in cash. I waited twenty minutes and watched as other customer got their orders including other paninis. It wasn't a busy time at all. There wasn't a line of other customers, but a nice flow. I asked to get it order to go . They were confused. I asked for my money back and left hungry and disappointed. F*ck Blackhorse.

Came into BlackHorse this morning and one of the employees seemed to be having a bit of an identity crisis. His name tag changed several times during the duration of our visit. He was an awesome worker, I'm just concerned for his mental well being. Thanks BlackHorse for providing such a quality customer experience!

Funny how we choose the things we do! I honestly went in didn't really care if the coffee was good but since I love horses I went in. To my surprise the bakery, the staff and the coffee was great. I even bought a coffee container because the graphics are super cool! I rarely use it, it's one of those things I want to keep so I guess I will have to buy another. Had a perfect morning with a sweet person. Thanks BlackHorse!

Great to see small businesses still open and seeming to do well based on the number of people I saw here. They have a few tables outside in case you want to eat or drink here. It was a beautiful day, so it worked out for us. I got the veggie burrito for breakfast and was surprised at how good it was. It really hit the spot.

Very cute coffee shop. We were visiting for the weekend and stopped by Blackhorse before leaving SLO. It was conveniently located near our Aribnb and it was way too early to be hitting the road before getting some coffee in our system. I was quickly drawn to their big pastry display case. We ordered 2 Cold Brews, a muffin, and Panini to go. The cold brew was very smooth, the muffin standard, and the panini was very good. The prices here are standard for a small business coffee shop.
The staff were very friendly. I also noticed that this place is dog friendly, as they have a big container of dog

Over behind Vons charging my car and had seen San Luis Kitchen driving in thinking it was a local restaurant so I walked over. Found it was a kitchen remodel cabinet shop; however, fortunately ran into Blackhorse Espresso and Bakery. Ordered a grande latte and the toffee bar. The bar was very good and the coffee was delicious, one of the most creamy and flavorful lattes I've had for a long time. I will check them out again when I'm in the area. I see they have many locations in San Luis Obispo and this one is a little bit obscure, but the staff was very friendly even though it was 15

BlackHorse always has good coffee and when I stopped in most recently they have the seasonal drinks which were great! I like this location a bit more than the one on Los Osos Valley Road as it's tucked away and a bit more calm. It has less seating but still enough between inside and outside to find yourself a place to enjoy your cup of coffee.

Okay, now that that's out of the way, I stop here whenever I can. The baked goods, the coffee and espresso, the kibble (sandwich, snack, scones) are usually way too tempting to leave in the lighted display case. In my case (see what I did there?), it's the perennial challenge.
You're here for the coffee. Yum- a really well-made double shot small wet cap(uccino) with whole milk, well, that's good.
It's like putting a smooth smile in your mouth, and everyone's invited.
