Sweet Pea Bakery, your friendly neighborhood bakery located in Arroyo Grande, was first founded in 2013 by Kelli "Sweet Pea" Smithback. After years of refining her culinary skills and developing her own unique twists on classic baked goods, Kelli opened the doors of Sweet Pea Bakery to the world. Since then, the bakery's acclaimed pastries and morning buns have won the heart of the California central coast.
In 2018, Kelli passed along Sweet Pea's legacy to Mikaela and Nikola. With a culinary background and love of baking, Mikaela has always dreamed of owning and operating her bakery. Nikola was one of Sweet Pea's very first employees, has several years of experience as a barista, and has a background in business.

Dropped by while passing through Pismo Beach and grabbed a mixed berry scone and some already wrapped macaroons for friends. Parking in the plaza is convenient and easy. The scone was fantastic - perfect level of sweetness and soft crumbliness, with a slight sugar-y crunch to some of the top crust. Would've loved to try an almond croissant as well, but they were sold out mid-morning. The ladies working at the bakery were so warm and kind - it instantly made me feel so happy on a cold, rainy morning!

Arrived at 10 AM- They had only 4 scones left and cookies to choose from. I’d say come early… but no, Zero, workers had on masks directly contravening the County-wide face covering mandate as of Sept 1st for all public places. Do not want Covid with my breakfast danish.. I mean if there was breakfast danish. Also No signs regarding masks clearly posted.

Authentic well crafted croissants. Better than I've had in Paris! A couple of unique-to-Sweat Pea items you have to try; Morning Bun (imagine a Croissant and Cinnamon Roll had a love child), Everything bun (more croissant than bagel, better than either).
Sweat Pea a small shop, very popular, there is a reason they sell out every day. Go early if you want to make sure they have what you want.
