Ever since our founding in 1989, Dr. Paul Tanaka has been committed to offering exceptional, comprehensive dental care to our patients. Before: Front (left) Central tooth has a poor restoration. Does not look natural and is not contoured properly to match the gumline of the rest of the teeth. After: Replaced with an All Porcelain Crown (no metal). Tooth is now contoured to match the rest of the gumline. Restored tooth looks very natural and matches the shape and color of the patient's teeth.
Our office goes through a different transformation monthly to help entertain our great patients. The themes are designed to provide that easy-going, relaxed, and fun atmosphere as a way to encourage our patients to "enjoy coming to the dentist." The purpose of the theme is to keep our patients smiling all through the day!
Because we are committed to improving the oral healthcare knowledge of our patients, we are providing the following selection of dental videos which we hope you will find interesting and informative. We have grouped the videos into various categories to provide quick access to the topics of greatest interest to you.
A comprehensive dental exam will be performed by your dentist at your initial dental visit. Examination of diagnostic x-rays (radiographs): Essential for detection of decay, tumors, cysts, and bone loss. X-rays also help determine tooth and root positions. Oral cancer screening: Check the face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues, and gums for any signs of oral cancer.

Always a pleasure to visit this office. Staff is so friendly and efficient and there is such a positive atmosphere here and I like hearing Doctor Tanaka's hearty laugh. He obviously cares deeply for his staff and it shows in their work ethics ; they are obviously very happy to be working there. Love the monthly themes and the complementary goodies on the way out. Good job Dr. Tanaka and staff - you guys are awesome.

Always a pleasure coming in for an appointment, love Dr. Tanaka's sense of humor! I was a bit apprehensive seeing someone new to do my teeth cleaning but Dawn was great and did a good job, I'll be happy to go to her in the future. As always the office is clean and the staff so very friendly, so although it's difficult to get appointments, it's worth the wait. 5 Stars, definitely,

I'm glad I went to Dr Tanaka after my dentist for many years retired. I regret that I didn't go to Dr Tanaka earlier. He and his fantastic team make the experience pleasant and almost enjoyable. Dr Tanaka always looks for practical solutions and solves bothersome issues. Dr. Tanaka and his staff were able to squeeze me in to fix a filling that had fallen out and let me just say, it was the best things experience with a filling that I've ever had! Didn't feel the needle at all, he was so quick and my chomper is as good as new. Thanks so much again to everyone! Such a pleasant experience for something that I normally find so stressful.

I had some small chips in my front teeth and he was able to fill them and make them look like new. I honestly have never left a dentist's office feeling this satisfied. 10/10 would definitely recommend. Staff was friendly and helpful, and even during the pandemic, I felt safe with the additional protocols they have instated.

Really shocked at how the office manager handles new patients, (Jen), and how their office staff handles new patients, (Liz). Never had this happen before and even been in the medical field myself and would never do this to a patient; I had scheduled an appointment with Dr. Tanaka, after a root canal done from an amazing dentist, Dr. Mirua. I had unfortunately gone quite some time without a crown and scheduled this appointment with Dr. Tanaka while on the mainland, anticipating a trip back to Oahu. When I called to set up the appointment i gave the office staff my insurance information and everything

I can't stress how much I appreciate Dr. Tanaka and his staff!! In the beginning of this year, I've recently had really bad front teeth, I had cracked it when I was younger and received a "temp filling". He was able to fix my smile and make it look a million times better. I love it.
The downfall, couple of weeks ago, my tooth chipped again. I'm very pleased with who Dr. Tanaka was able to take me in even without an appointment. For that, I am forever grateful. Otherwise, I'd be walking around with a chipped tooth. This chipped tooth has nothing to do with his work

This is THE place to go if you want fast friendly service with a professional atmosphere. The staff puts you at ease from the time you walk in till the time you leave. Dr. Tanaka is one of the most professional yet friendly dentist you will ever know. A smile on his face and genuine concern for your health and well being shows. I changed over to Dr. Tanaka a little over a year ago and have not regret it since. I have always hated going to the dentist, but now I don't mind it at all. In fact, I actually look forward to it. Dr. Tanaka and his team make the whole going to the dentist a really enjoyable experience. From the different themes he has going on to actually getting the chance to ask questions and really understand your chart better, I would definitely recommend Dr. Tanaka to anyone looking for a new dentist.

Dr. Tanaka has managed to change the dreaded dental experience to a party scene. You may think the office decorations, snacks and beverages are just a ploy to take your mind off the real business. But not so. The work is painless and on the cutting edge technologically. It really is painless and you forget everything for longer visits because you get to watch a movie of your choice. His staff is the same...very supportive of a light hearted environment and very willing to give you any information that you need. I'm hooked now that I know a better way is possible!

Dr. Tanaka is FANTASTIC!! Every time I walk through his door, I feel like I'm a celebrity. Subsequently, the whole entire visit feels like I'm receiving the Ritz Carlton 5 star treatment. I went in for replacement of my amalgam fillings, and I didn't want to leave. The staff treated me to a movie of my choice to keep me distracted, numbed the area before using the needle (painless might I add), and ended with a nice lemon scented towel to wipe my face clean. On top of that, I left with tasty treats and a chance to win a gift basket of great goodies. If you think this is wonderful
