We look at children from what is called a developmental point of view, believing that each child needs to go through the same predictable stages of development, but at their own pace with their own unique style. If children are given a variety of activities to choose from, ranging from fine motor play to large motor play, and fantasy play, music and the discovery of nature, they will choose the kind of play that.
Young children should not be forced to sit down and work on writing letters and numbers, when what they want to do is build sand castles and ride bikes. At Rocking Horse Ranch, they will be constantly exposed to letters and numbers and other concepts within the framework of our thematic curriculum, and will pick up that knowledge as they are ready.

Services
Your child needs to be 3 years old to start at Rocking Horse Ranch Preschool. The first step is to come to an open house, which we encourage you to attend with your child. This will take about an hour and will include a tour of the school and the grounds. We will also have a talk scheduled for that time which will cover the specifics of our program; our philosophy, goals, daily schedule, our teachers and answer any and all of your questions.
We believe that there is a range during which this will happen for each individual child, and putting any kind of pressure on them will only be counter-productive, so we do not make that a requirement for starting school here. They can come at any stage of this process and we will happily support them where they are, which will help them move on to the next stage.

This place is my dream pre-school! They have a huge yard with swings, slides, a zip line, bikes, easels set up for painting, etc...name another place with goats, alpacas, geese and chickens! They have a huge yurt for nap time. Their inside area is also huge—-lots of tables for different crafts in addition to the table in the kitchen and a few in the dining room/cubby area. There’s absolutely no way a child can get bored and not learn a bunch at this place. I’ve watched my grandchild absolutely blossom here. Thank you, Rocking Horse Ranch! You all rock!!!
