If you've had a vision screening recently, you might say, My vision is fine! I don't need a comprehensive eye exam. But a vision screening provides a limited perspective on the overall health of your eyes. It's a bit like getting your blood pressure checked and not getting the rest of your annual physical.
Dr. Neil Rubin has been serving the local community since he graduated from optometry school in 1988. He received a BS in biology at SUNY Albany and graduated SUNY College of Optometry which he stayed on as an associate clinical professor. His post-graduate work included working with children in prominent Long Island developmental vision practices and becoming certified in the diagnosis and therapeutic treatment of eye diseases.

Keratoconus is a common reason why patients wear specialty contact lenses. Dr. Rubin uses different designs from custom soft to gas permeable and scleral depending on the level of the condition. Rose-K is a unique gas permeable lens fit by Dr. Rubin to match the irregular cornea. When you come to the office, Dr. Rubin will discuss the options available to you.

Dr. Rubin makes going to the doctor easy and seamless. He is intelligent, personable and has excellent bedside manner which is so important these days. The location is great, the office is very clean, and he does not overbook, so you will not need to wait long. The eye exams are thorough and there are an abundant amount of glasses options to choose from. I would highly recommend, as not only is Dr. Rubin great, but his front desk staff is very helpful and professional as well.

Dr. Rubin is not only the best optometrist I've ever been to,
he has a great bedside manner and is meticulous at formulating
the perfect prescription for my eyes.
I've been to other optometrists and usually, the prescriptions they formulate are slightly too strong, and they create a discomfort to my eyes after wearing the glasses for a short time.

Went to Dr Rubin office due to an emergency where I scratch my eye and I began to panic. I was able to set up an appointment online before they opened and the moment they were open I received a call and they were able to make a appointment for me right away. The staff and Dr were beyond nice and I felt so comfortable. I even made an appointment for my daughter. I Would definitely recommend!

My sister recommend Dr. Rubin, after I cracked a tooth. "But" I said "I need a Dentist not an Optometrist." She said "Well your glasses are horrible too." Being that she is my sister and much much older I decided to pay heed to her advice. After she released me from the head lock in which she held me (she's also much much larger) I called Dr. Rubin's office. I'm glad I did. Dr. Rubin and his team are very friendly.

All four members of my family have been regular patients of Dr Rubin's for many-many years and not one of us has any desire or reason to change a good thing. Dr. Rubin is very personable, professional and so is his very excellent staff. Having just visited his office in Wantagh for my annual exam - I was greeted by his staff and immediately brought into the exam room and greeted by Dr. Rubin - NO WAITING!. My daughter and I went as new patients. The office is clean and comfortable. Both the receptionist and Dr. Rubin were friendly and knowledgeable. The exams we received were extensive. Been going to Dr. Rubin for almost 20 years. He never makes you wait. Since going to him, my eye sight has remained the same. You can always trust him when it comes to your eye sight. I wear both contacts and glasses and get 20/20 vision with his help. You never have to wait at his office. He always remembers exactly who you are and always is interested in how you and your family are doing. I wouldn't go see anyone else for my eyes.

Dr Rubin is truly the best eye dr I've been to. I recently started wearing contacts. He was so patient with me during to process of finding the right prescription due to the fact my far vision is great but I can't see well near. I couldn't stand the glasses on my head anymore. We found the right fit and I've been so happy! Today I had to run into his office thinking I had a contact stuck somewhere in my eye. He fit me in and checked my eye, and I must have lost it.
