BD Custom offers full service woodwork/millwork, steel fabrication, upholstery and contract manufacturing. We specialize in working with clients to develop pieces custom tailored to their spaces and aesthetics. All work is designed, engineered and manufactured using state of the art equipment and building practices.
Shane is the man behind the brand. His impeccable taste and discerning eye have created a legendary ability to find and curate the unique and magnificent. Shane keeps busy with large scale design projects, including retail outlets like Nordstrom, Ralph Lauren and Starbucks. He is also in demand to work with celebrities and decorators to achieve the perfect look.

A vintage decor lover's dream land, The Well is the latest retail outpost in Summerland opened by Shane Brown, the founder of Big Daddy's antiques. Summerland's rebirth is continuing with the recent opening of The Well, Shane Brown's home and garden emporium at 2350 Lillie Ave.

Big Daddy's is not your typical antique store. If you're like me and you enjoy rummaging through antique items, nick nacks and more, this is not the place for you. With that being said, at Big Daddy's you can definitely find custom furniture, reproductions and home decor items for both your home and garden. Parking is available in their lot, accessible to the entrance of the store.

This place is tremendous. I happen to be across the street at the supply house and I noticed BIG DADDY'S ANTIQUES. I was hoping they have more mission style furniture but they have a lot of things here especially large items. If you're looking for the unusual for the out of the ordinary whether it's for your backyard or in your house give this place a try.

One of the most eclectic places to shop at within Town & Country Village. The items on display here are as creative as they are unique and you'll have fun even walking around to get some inspiration for your home decor. The wood paneling details on some of the furniture pieces are pretty neat and make you appreciate how furniture is such a craft! The best part is the display items- all sorts of animal-themed items that make the house a fun place not just for kids but adults, too. Pro-tip try to park near Trader Joe's since there's way more parking out there and the walk is super

This is both a unique, hip antique store and a wonderful place to hold an event. We've been to two school silent auctions and both times were a magical experience. The backdrop of large, vintage items was a perfect setting to host a gala, with catering, an open bar, a DJ, and plenty of room for dancing and mixing with friends. For our events, they even hired cirque performers, which fit in with the off-beat decor. Its location, just off La Cienega near Jefferson feels hidden, yet trendy.

I love Big Daddy's AntiquesI have been collecting from Big Daddy's since Shane the owner, had a little stand at the Santa Monica Flea Market 20 year's ago. I still have some of the special pieces I got back then, and still love them. Big Daddy's is like a huge treasure chest. Everything is special and unique, and it's just worth a trip over there to look around and get inspired. I recently had a table custom made from them. Arthur helped me to create just what I wanted. I'm a fan of this place. They have unique items, nicely placed. Even if the stuff they are selling are way above your budget, it still worth it. You might get inspired and be creative and decorate your house by spending less money!
The staff is always friendly, but that's a given. They are running a business not a country!

Big Daddy's Antiques was number one on my list of potential wedding venues. We wound up choosing another venue as a compromise - parents wanted a more traditional place. I'm just the bride, not like my opinion actually counts right? ;) I wanted to write about my positive experience nevertheless in case potential brides get discouraged by the negative reviews.
I communicated with Hayley, the event coordinator, solely through e-mail primarily, but I never had an issue reaching her. She replied to my e-mails on the same day without fail. I found her to be flexible, mindful, and patient

I would like to start by saying, this store sells beautiful furniture. They should stick to furniture sales.
However, they do offer event rentals. If we could have actually gotten them to respond to us, I think we could have had an amazing wedding there! In the beginning, the event director informed me she only worked Monday through Wednesday. I thought she must mean formally, in the office. However, she responded to emails only M-W during business hours, and often Tuesday evening to an email sent Friday. Even still, I loved the venue so much, I pushed through and overlooked so much awful

If you want to have the worst wedding planning experience, this is your place. You will either be ignored (via email or phone), not get a reply or if you want to look on the bright side, someone might get back to you maybe 2 weeks after the timeline that's promised to you.
I'm actually glad this happened early enough that I can decide not to go with this venue and now I don't have to deal with this for the rest of my wedding planning. The venue I am now getting married at is super gorgeous and most importantly, they have THE BEST

Read about this place in a Sunset Magazine article last winter thought it sounded like a neat place to check out as Thomas Jefferson has a appreciation for "old" items. It can be hard to find this place if you don't know exactly what you are looking for I recommend calling ahead as the people that anwer the phone are SUPER friendly and helpful.
Check out their website this is a virtual Gardners paradise for unusual planters, water fountains and pottery to be placed throughout your garden. It is VERY pricey so be prepared but you are looking at some magnificent items.
