Kappy's is a family owned and operated restaurant with the owners being Chicagoans having a history in the restaurant business for three generations. Owner Gus Alpogianis first started in the business opening and operating The Palace Grill on Chicago's west side.

Two country fresh extra large AA eggs fried in butter, served with hash browns, toast, butter and jelly. Have not been here in years. Just picked it by chance for breakfast and wow is it different. Very nice renovation, menu, service. Came back again for dinner and $2 tap beer on wed night and was very happy with everything. Fast, friendly service at this classic diner. My favorite lox plate in the area (center cut Atlantic salmon)!

ПThe best American breakfast in Illinois. The place was warm. Staffs were kindly walking around and ask “more coffee?” The fried chicken was crispy and nutty. Pancake was as soft as cotton candy! With the maple syrup, it’s taking you to the heaven! Price was very reasonable. It’s all around $6 - $12. Very nice place and amazing flavor!

Great Food and Service. They were very busy but waiter went out of his way to make sure everything (food) we ordered was perfect. We had a big party of 12. (Family Time). Even the owner stopped by to see how we enjoyed our experience. Made you feel at home. Great Time. Highly recommend Kappy's American Grill.

We got there on a Monday night and were not greeted for 5-10 minutes. Then told they didn't know how long it would be to seat us. The restaurant was not full by any means. I will grant that I saw 3-4 servers.once seated, things were smoother.
The food was adequate, but a loaded baked potato was brought for my guest, when she clearly ordered loaded hash browns and milk. No milk ever arrived.
This was not a great experience.

When I say this place is THEE BEST... that's what I mean! From the moment you enter until the time you leave! You are acknowledged and greeted when you enter. Not very long wait at all. The food is the most!! I absolutely love it. The atmosphere is very welcoming! I mean...what else can I say?! Oh they are very friendly! I actually gave this review 6 stars...but it's hiding! Love it!! I come all the way from Chicago just to eat there!

I ordered online via a delivery app and wow I'm so glad I did. It was incredible. I was thinking I would get just a slice of meatloaf and a little cup of mashed potatoes. I was so wrong. The portions are huge and it was so good. The food tastes home cooked and so comforting. It left me feeling like my mom had made me dinner. I've already suggested it to my family and can't wait to dine in, in the future.
My only complaint is that the food could use more black pepper in my opinion.

I'm giving full stars for the excellent customer service. We went with kids on a busy morning and everyone was patient and efficient. All kinds of people go there, and they have no problem accommodating everyone. The food was solid and the place was clean. I can see that the owners care about the total experience. Other places should follow such an example.

Food excellent. Huge portions. Pretzel bread as table bread. Fish fry came with potato pancakes. Center cut beer battered cod. Was all you can eat but after the free soup, I chose matzoh ball, the ball was the size of a softball...I was full and we didnt request a second portion. Water was good, ice clear. Real glass glasses. They had amazing looking desserts too. Next time!
