The shoulder is one of the most complex joints with the greatest range of motion of any joint in the human body. It straddles a razors thin edge between stability and instability - which is what allows it to have such an incredible range of motion. Four structures contribute to this function - bone, cartilage, tendon, and ligaments.
If your orthopedic injury is work-related, you must provide the designated authorization letter given by your employer or workers' compensation representative. We will need your claim or case number, in addition to the appropriate contact and phone number regarding the matter. You will also be required to provide a billing address as well.
The following is important and helpful information about your upcoming surgery with Dr. Seneviratne. Medical Clearance: Please visit your primary care physician for your pre-operative medical clearance. Your physician should fax the medical reports to Dr. Seneviratne's office three (3) days prior to the surgical date.
Dr. Seneviratne provides services to patients from out of state as well as international patients via the Mount Sinai International Patient Services Department. Services that are technology intensive such as arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery, and robotic total or partial knee replacements are particularly valuable for patients who may not have access to these advanced technologies in their home state or country.
