The forces that occur during running and jumping can be up to 10 times your body weight, these forces are increased with not only the activities we do but how our foot and ankle is able to adapt to the forces. These extreme forces can cause a partial tear or a complete rupture of the tendon, in chronic conditions a tendinitis of the Achilles can occur.
Arthritis comes in many forms, osteoarthritis is the most common form which is characterized by the breakdown or loss of cartilage within the joints of the body. For example, hallux rigidus which is a common arthritic condition seen in the big toe joint of the foot. Osteoarthritis can be caused by excessive wear and tear of the joint which may be caused by; age, repetitive micro-trauma, or abrupt traumatic injury to the joint.

Foot complications secondary to diabetes are the most common cause of atraumatic lower extremity amputations and also the leading cause of diabetic hospitalized in the United States. The major cause of this is due to loss of sensation to the feet or neuropathy. The loss of feeling to the feet can result in minor sores or cuts being unnoticed leading to complicated infections which can require aggressive medical and surgical interventions.
Fractures of the foot and/or ankle come in many forms and are all treated specifically depending on the type of fracture and it's location. Fractures can be a result of a traumatic injury resulting in symptoms which present very quickly with pain, swelling, redness and bruising. On the other hand, they can occur gradually due to stress and or overuse injury, resulting in a more gradual onset of symptoms.

Summary: waste of copay, went twice but received no solution for issue that was resolved by a second doctor in less than 20 min.
I went to Dr. Rajan Patel for two visits with complications from ingrown nail removal procedure done by an urgent care. I was impressed with how easily I could schedule a last minute appointment (maybe this should have been a warning sign). I saw a few bad reviews, but there’s always going to be haters, so I went with it since I was desperate to get some relief from the pain I was in.
Dr. Patel seemed to be in a rush to get me in and out during my initial visit and

I was extremely pleased with Dr Patel's quick treatment of my ingrown toenail. It was very clear to me that Dr Patel was highly skilled, as the procedure was done smoothly and with minimal discomfort. He is very personable, which helps ease the treatment process. I highly recommend Dr Patel for his expertise and experience.

I really wanted to like this place. the problems started before i even walked in the front door.
i got an email to pay my copay of $35 before i arrived but when i arrived to the office they charged me an additional copay (i told them i had already paid, but apparently the online copay payment was just a portion of the copay?).
then when i saw dr patel, he said my problem would most likely be treated with a corticosteroid shot -- which is also the option that he said he personally would have gone with. pain was said to subside by the third day. i then paid even more at this point for the steroid

I had to go here to get an ingrown toenail removed. I told the reception staff, the nurses, and Dr. Patel that I have a somewhat severe needle phobia and so I was very nervous about the numbing. All of the staff were EXTREMELY helpful and made every effort to help me be comfortable during the procedure. After the injections Dr. Patel checked with me to make sure I was ok before continuing with the procedure and never made me feel bad for my fear. Keep in mind this is all while other patients are being seen. The amount of help that was given to help me feel comfortable made the entire process so

Dr. Patel and his staff have been amazing. He has seen me for a few different issues, and has always steered me in the right direction. Someone always answers the phone at the front desk, appointments are easy to make, and Dr. Patel couldn't have a better bedside manner. If all of my doctors had a practice like this one, life would be a breeze! I would highly reccomend this practice to anyone, and in fact, when my mom had to have surgery, she too chose Dr. Patel. Great team!!
