Born and raised in Ormond Beach, FL, Dr. Walters is the Co-owner and Founder of Capital Foot & Ankle Surgeons of Austin. He attended the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, FL and earned a BS in Health Science. Following undergraduate school, he attended Barry University's School of Graduate Medical Sciences in Miami, FL and earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 2002.

If you're looking for a knowledgeable and caring doctors, no need to look any further. Dr. Mereau and her staff were most excellent in handling my ganglion cyst. They're very thorough in the walk through of treatments and take the time to sit with you and answer any questions you might have. In a time and space when a lot of doctors treat their patients like cattle, this is the exception. Keep up the good work Capital Foot & Ankle!

Everyone working there was perfectly pleasant to me and I felt the quality of care I received was adequate. However they took unnecessary xrays (that weren't even looked at during my visits) in order to charge insurance more, and also charged my insurance $500 for a walking boot that was $80 online.

I would recommend this practice to anyone searching for knowledgeable and professional podiatrists! In addition to the physicians being incredible, the staff is very kind and well-educated as well. As I was nervous to undergo an ingrown toenail procedure, Dr Walters walked me through the steps and made sure I was comfortable. I did not feel any pain thanks to the expertise of my physician. After my appointment, the kind assistant made sure I understood how to care for my toe to avoid infection. Look no further than this practice with Dr Mereau and Dr Walters if you are looking for kind doctors

I sprained my ankle pretty badly today while running and I couldn’t find an urgent care or get in anywhere. It so happened they are next to Urgent Care Bee cave who closed down recently. I called to see if they could get me in for an X-ray and they did. Super fast, friendly and got results there on the spot. Huge stress relief. It’s not even their primary business, but helped me out anyway! Recommend for sure.

I broke my toe in a way that made it impossible to set. I had a bad experience with the first doctor I saw so I went to Dr. John with my toe sticking out at the wrong angle and a lot of foot pain. Dr. John was empathetic and professional. He got me in for surgery the next day even though we're in a pandemic. When I arrived for surgery all my nurses raved about how I had the best surgeon because he's nice to both staff and patients, and has a reputation for taking his time and doing his surgeries very carefully. I've never had a doctor who was so well-liked for so many good reasons.

Always a good sign when a doctor refers you...&.what a blessing as Dr Walters & team guided me through a successful surgery .( I have to admit it but foot doctors can be weird) but not him. Quite normal & nice. Plus talented.

Dr. Mereau is the best! She has now, successfully and with out any complications, done surgery on both my feet. Everything she said about my recovery was spot on and she had me up on my feet walking, exercising, running AND being able to wear any shoe with out pain! She is an amazing surgeon, her staff are friendly and helpful and I would definitely recommend her to others.

I came to see Dr. Walters for hammer toe/corn issues. My foot was a mess! One of my toes top digit was turning to the right making it impossible to walk with out pain. I also have longer toes which caused corns to build in my shoes because my toes were all scrunched up. Dr. Walters was able to straighten out and shorten the toe that was turning to the right as well as shorten the adjacent toe so it matched in length. I was very nervous about the procedure, just thinking of all of the things that could go wrong. Dr. Walters made me feel very comfortable and never made me feel like my foot issue

I lived with pain in my feet and toes for years due to previous surgeries from another doctor. I then saw Dr. Shine John. He was able to perform surgery on my left foot with the new Cartiva implant and that foot is doing great. He also performed corrective surgery on my right big toe which required a bone implant. My recovery has gone well and I am able to walk without pain. I am very happy that I reached out to Dr. John and would recommend him to anyone having foot issues. Great office staff, caring and courteous.
