Rio Viento RV Park
Rio Viento is located on Sherman Island adjacent to the Sacramento River, where the Delta meets the Bay. You can enjoy all of the recreational activities the Delta has to offer, or all of the cultural activities the Bay has to offer, when you stay at Rio Viento. Every site is 35 feet wide by 50 feet deep, with huge 22 foot wide by 45 foot deep parking pads, set at a 60 degree angle to the road.

All the roads and parking pads are constructed with concrete pavers, each one hand placed. Launch your boat or PWC at the newly renovated boat launch at the Sacramento County Park just down the road from Rio Viento. There is a community center for guests to gather. We have social events like Pickleball, bbq's, ladies nights, guys nights and other events.
Services
Rio Viento is the place to enjoy your windsurfing vacation. Grassy rigging areas, private launches and all the comforts of your travel trailer or motorhome. Full RV hookups and clean restrooms with hot showers are provided. Sherman Island is famous for its warm air and fresh water sailing. Tidal surges create a variety of sailing conditions.

Great place to stay, plenty of room between spots. It's very quite and safe as it's a bit out of the way from anything, but that's the best part. I'd highly recommend staying here.

Ok... last time I was here it was a disaster. The old managers were off the chart asshats. A few months ago the new manager messaged me and asked if I could give them another chance.
Well.. I'll be dogged! Fantastic turnaround. The new group is great. Then their assistant managers were hired...
Fun couple!! Everyone has a great attitude and right there if there's any problems.
I absolutely suggest you give this place a chance.

I hate to write this but, I am going to. We lived there full time about 7 years ago. We loved it and as far as I was concerned it was just the greatest place. We have been back once since and stayed for a week and it was great. I called and talked to them and got the reservations.

I tried to get a reservation for Wed before Thanksgiving and when I went to the website the only way to reach them was to fill out a request form. I never heard from them so I called again and finally got a voice mail. I left a message and have never heard back from them. I sent an email, still not response

They asked for quite a bit of personal information before even letting you know if the dates requested are available. Leads me to believe they could be using this for racial or social profiling prior to accepting a request.

John and Stephanie (the new management) are great! Very welcoming and accommodating, as well as knowledgeable about the area. Just generally a very pleasant couple to talk to.
The park is very clean with enough space for a long rig and a second vehicle. Full hookups, which is great for the price range. Good for short or long term stay. Spots are paved and they have nice palm trees around the park. It's peaceful and quiet, near the kite / windsurf spots and a small beach down the road. It's a bit windy in the summer, but helps to cool off. Post comes in regularly, apart from usps. Laundry

Very secure/safe, peaceful place to stay.
The roads and rv spots done using pavers keeping dirt/dust to a minimum.
Staff makes certain park rules are followed. Gated community at night keeps the rif raf out.
Enjoyed my 6months there with zero problems.

We stayed at this campground for two months. It was very quiet and we saw some gorgeous sunrises and sunsets both out our back window and up by the river, which is just across the road from the campground. Loved all of the palm trees. We got great service. Barbara, the campground manager, was wonderful. The brick pavers throughout the campground are classy and make for a nice, level and clean campsite. If there was a laundry room and other amenities, we would have given it five stars.

Management disclosed personal information to me about other occupants then told me "but they don't want anyone to know that" followed by "I don't know why they are so private" this information included their job title and location. Wouldn't be such a big deal if the manager didn't literally come to my trailer and seethingly yell at me - after I noted he was upset and asked if there was anything I could do to make this right- for breaking a rule of having a "visitor" (which was internet installation AFTER we got permission) and then using my job

People are very nice. Very clean and beautiful. Cobblestone brick roads and sites which is fabulous!! Best I've ever seen. River is right across levee road. I would definitely recommend this place.
Cons: Over 2 mile levee road to park is horrible and bumpy. Bathrooms ok but not great. No laundromat and you are 20 minutes from any town. Pretty river close but you cannot see it at all unless you go up the levee road. I wanted to see it.

I wanted to leave a five star rating because of all the great things about the park. If you read the other low ratings the common theme is rude management. Barbra is a really nice manager, but the other one has a serious anger management problem. I've seen him go off on people for minor issues to the point he swears at them and gets close up in their face as if threatening to fight.

Now the rest of the story; Rating is ********** Ten stars for cleanliness, facilities and location. The views are truly wonderful. The Sacramento river runs just 80 feet from the park. During the windy season
