The owner of Mile Away Restaurant has decided to close the restaurant and become an Event Center. We will host indoor and outdoor events, weddings, functions and other gatherings year around. We are asking all gift certificate/card holders to come use them by the end of this year. We thank all our valued customers for the years of patronage and hope to see you at an event here.
The Mile Away Restaurant has been charming guests in its cozy post and beam barn with wide pine floors and fireplaces for over 50 years. The building was originally a farm built in 1746-one of the early settlements of the town of Monson, NH. The farm is located one mile away from Monson rock which was the location of the village meeting house.

Services
Our tented weddings include a hors d'oeuvres package, champagne toast, three food stations and a wedding cake made by Frederick's Pastries for $52.00 per person. Our tented wedding facilities can accommodate up to 200 guests. We offer three acres of private gardens alongside a waterfall fountain granite quarry, bathroom cottage including a handicap bathroom and a small vanity room.
Please call the restaurant one week before your banquet with the entire guest order (appetizer, main course and dessert), your decision on the bar and hors d'oeuvres order. Our Swiss room is available for private events for groups of 20 to 40 guests. Our four course banquet menu includes an appetizer, salad, entree, dessert & coffee or tea.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at Mile Away. Each of our meals was prepared to perfection and the escargot was the best I've ever eaten. Our waitress Alex was also very gracious and made us feel like family.
It's sad that we found this lovely place just as they are switching to an event only venue.

I wanted to take my mother to a 4 course dinner. We chose to go here despite it being an hour away due to the high reviews. The place is absolutely beautifully located and adorable. However, the food was mediocre at best. There is a wide variety of entrees to choose from, which was great for our family. The restaurant APPEARED very promising. HOWEVER, we will never return. I am giving them 3 stars, for the décor, the menu, and the cat.
Our reservation was for 6:30, we weren't sat until 6:45 due to no tables available. Annoying, but understandable. This would not have been a downfall if our waitress
