My father had his 88th birthday this past week and Tall Oaks (Cheryl) prepared the most wonderful and delicious lunch for us; Beef tenderloin, bernaise sauce, baked potato, and green beans, desserts and drinks. We had a private seating area that was decorated with balloons, a birthday banner, and flowers on the table (Leslye). They thought of everything and did all that they could to give my dad a truly memorable celebration. The pandemic didn't hold us back at all and yet safety measures were always taken. I am so grateful to the entire staff at Tall Oaks for the care they give and the compassion

A real test of a community is how they manage crises. Tall Oaks Assisted Living has done an outstanding job of managing during COVID-19. They were early in taking restrictive measure--even before CMS required them. They have been transparent and communicated with families frequently.
It was inevitable, given their location in Northern Virginia, that there would be COVID cases--especially since many staff work at least 2 jobs including at other facilities. Tall Oaks gave direct care staff a raise and asked them to limit their work to this single facility.

I run a service performing music for assisted living all over the DC area. With that said, Tall Oaks Assisted living is one of my favorite and regular spots I go to because the residents there are some of the happiest. This facility is a product of some great staff that work together and know their residents well.

My MiL moved in here a few months ago. The facility is attractive and nicely maintained. Staff are great, very attentive. The chef is good, and there are choices at every meal, including things not on the menu. The bistro area always has snacks and drinks handy, as well. There are tons of activities daily, including presentations, performances, discussions, games, and exercise. There is an on-site fitness center, PT room, doctors space for visiting doctors, and beauty parlor. There have been a couple of problems with communication/training regarding call buttons, but when raised to executive staff

The demographic for this facility contributes in large part to my negative review. At 67' I was the youngest person there. Most of the residents are profoundly deaf, have varying degrees if cognitive loss, etc. many are quite disabled. I was there for the therapy program which is run by a different company, on site, and is quite good. The facility is clean and nicely decorated, but the food is bland and repetitive. The nursing/aide care quality diminishes as the day wears on, with less capable or caring personnel talking over by midnight. My mattress was completely broken down, but
