If you or your parents are in a nursing home or assisted living facility, there is a good chance they are receiving benefits though the state's Medi-Cal program. Medi-Cal insurance takes over for Medicare for qualified seniors who are in a facility for more than 60 days. To qualify for Medi-Cal you must have minimal cash or cash equivalents at the end of each month.
Many parents put off estate planning because they do not think they have substantial assets to protect. This outlook is common among young adults who think they have plenty of time to accumulate wealth and plan for it at a later date. The initial in person meeting was quite impressive and I felt very comfortable with Brian Chew. Brian is very professional and explained the process in plain language and easy to understand. Brian created our estate living trust for us when our children were young 10+ years ago. Since then we have come back to him a couple of times to do some updates and amendments as well as reached out to him on occasion via email with questions. I absolutely recommend Anthony, who was very easy to work with and able to complete our consultation and document reviews all virtually due to COVID times. Over three efficient and effective meetings, our family trust was established. Working with Anthony Yang and Brian Chew, and their office staff, was easy and seamless. They were always a step ahead and made the process painless. The first two meetings were by Zoom and the last for signing was in person with all necessary precautions taken for COVID prevention. I'd put off preparing a trust for years and finally committed to complete it. I found OC Wills and Trust on YELP and read so many positive reviews that I decided to try them. My initial free consultation with Attorney Brian Chew was great. He made the process seem fairly simple.
