Jennifer is the owner and managing attorney at the Law Office of Jennifer Guimond-Quigley, currently in its tenth year of operation. She realized early on in law school that she had a passion for both family law and estate planning. After gaining experience in these two areas both during and after law school through several small firm positions, Jennifer decided to start her own firm.
We offer a wide range of services that pertain to domestic relations issues including: divorce, legal separation, allocation of parental responsibilities (formerly "custody" and "visitation"), child support, maintenance, parentage, adoption, cohabitation, same-sex matters, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, post-decree matters and orders of protection.
You have worked hard at building a life - we make sure the people and things most important to you are protected in case of your disability or death. We also provide administration services when a loved one dies to ensure the estate is wound up pursuant to the decedent's estate plan or, if no plan existed, pursuant to the default laws that exist in Illinois.
Successfully obtained the return of a minor child who was taken out of state by the child's mother and concealed from the father. In that same case, we were also able to procure an order preventing the mother from removing the child from the State of Illinois pending the resolution of the custody matter and allocating temporary possession of the child to my client.
In all contested matters affecting families, we utilize a collaborative and respectful approach as we find it not only sets a more positive tone for the case, but offers the best chance for settlement. It is our experience that parties who can settle their case themselves have a better chance of staying out of court in the long term, which is always in the family's best interest.

It is impossible to explain in a short review how important it is to have someone on your side when you're fighting for your child in a custody case. I would recommended Jennifer and her team to everyone. The team is incredibly smart, fair and thorough. I had so many questions throughout the entire process and Jennifer took the time to explain everything to me. She also took the time to listen to me, review all of my concerns and KNOW my case. My girlfriend and I hired Jennifer's services. We were between her and another lawyer, and we regret we went with her, for the following reasons:
- She did not accomplish anything that she said she'd fight for on our first visit.
- She failed to provide critical advice that would have protected us in the process and that I'm sure a better lawyer would have communicated.
- She delayed the process for months, when it could have been much quicker, and again, to accomplish nothing.
- She charged us double what the other lawyer, a reputable one, quoted us.
- We brought this all up to her, and she
