Both in terms of what needs to be resolved between the married couple and in terms of how to go through the Court. Uncontested divorce: You and your spouse may be in agreement on most things and only want one attorney working on your case.
Alimony in Illinois is called Maintenance, and in early 2019, the maintenance calculations changed. Maintenance is one of the most contested areas in a divorce. That's because maintenance is not an automatic right. It's not an automatic thing given to one of the divorcing parties. Also maintenance, if awarded, can be for a portion of the time of the length of the marriage, or for the rest of the life of the person receiving the maintenance.
When people divorce, the courts will review how their marital property is divided. In Illinois, that means the property should be divided equitably (which may not be the same as equally). Simply put, a marital asset is something purchased with marital funds (money) during the course of the marriage.
Child custody in Illinois is now called parental responsibilities. You and the other parent determine things like educational choices, religious upbringing, medical decisions, and even extra-curricular activities of your child or children. These 4 areas represent significant decision-making responsibilities.
Parents of minor children can use this estimator to help give them an idea of what child support may be. However, an understanding of Illinois law is necessary in order to determine the exact child support duration and amount. The number of children the non-custodial parent has from a previous relationship that they are also paying child support too.

Sara Kubik, was extremely professional, knowledgeable of the courts, and understanding of my situation. Sara, is Client driven and aware. Aware, from personal experience, that family court can be very expensive and stressful, she did everything she could to help resolve my custody case as smoothly and quickly as possible.
