Mag's Donuts & Bakery is a donut shop in Irvine that has all the classic donuts, like raised, cake, and old fashion; and delicious new items like Nutella cronuts and maple bacon cronuts that are baked fresh daily. The Yen family escaped and survived the tragic events of the Cambodian Civil War and fled to American in 1979. Yean and Ning Yen established a new place they called "home" and gathered enough money to buy a small shop from a Chicagoan named Mag's and the rest in history. Our amazing neighbor just surprised us with a box of Mag's donuts for a sweet Easter treat!

The Yen family came to the US with nothing more than the clothes on their backs and the hopes of achieving the "American dream." Yean and Ning worked multiple jobs to make ends meet when they arrived in the US. Yean worked at Mag's Donuts during the day and was a seamstress at night while Ning was a janitor during the day and a donut baker at Mag's at night.

Mag's has great donuts and ham and cheese croissants! My favorite donut is the blueberry donut, which they are well known for. I've been a few times during the pandemic, and the workers don't always wear masks. They are however, kind and friendly.
Quick tip- you can ask for the croissants to get heated up, so delicious!

Sorry, the donuts are decent here but this morning while I was picking up donuts and bagels, I saw the lady working at this location handle every donut with her bare hands while restocking them in the display - some donuts even got handled twice or three times by her bare hands/fingers. Not cool in general but definitely not cool during a global pandemic.

Hubby and I DoorDash Mag's donuts a few months ago after seeing all of the highly rated Yelp reviews. We did not have the best experience upon receiving them. We got a few of the chocolate old fashioned donuts since Hubby had a massive donut craving. The donuts were extremely oily and the frosting dripped everywhere. Hubby took a bite and had to toss the rest away.
Nonetheless, this was our delivery experience. I'd personally like to give Mag's another shot in person rather than just basing it on our delivery experience.

So my coworker brought in donuts this morning from Mags in Irvine before her morning commute to LB. I hear DONUTS, so I go pick my poison. My favorite donut called me--Le Petit French Cruller sitting in the corner of the box in all its choco-covered glory.
No napkins came with the donuts. Alright, I go grab some paper towels from the paper towel dispenser, and pick my donut. It's a fairly large size for a cruller, just a little bigger than the palm of my hand. Heavily frosted. Runny. This should be interesting...
I take my first bite. Airy interior, which is right. Texture is chewy and soggy

Must get their fresh Vietnamese coffee!! I also had the breakfast sausage bagel sandwich, bomb! Get it with jalepeno bagel with swiss cheese. The doughnut holes are great and we had alot of the nice doughnut specials, cereal is great. The cinnamon roll and fritters are huge and tastey! Definitely recommend!

Mag's Donuts is your simple, no-frills neighborhood Donut Shop that will work perfectly if you just need to show up with a box full of high sugar carbs in tow. They offer just about any Donut, Bar, Cronut, or Croissant you are looking for and just about everything tasted decent or better. The prices are what you would expect (averaging $1.50 per) and the service was plenty friendly. Not much to dislike here.
Oh, one pro-tip: Double the amount of Blueberry Donuts you intend to order as that is easily their best offering and people fought

Won't be coming back for a few reasons. I found hair in a donut hole. And the donuts are starting to taste less fresh in my last 2 experiences , once in the morning another at noon. Unfortunate.
Also took note of flies flying in the donut case. Pretty gross, therefore I'm assuming they're having issues with cleanliness. That's a big no No. therefore my family is no longer a loyal customer

Mag's is SUCH a classic in Irvine, and I've been coming here since high school! It's one of those very reasonably priced, delicious donut places that never disappoints. I've been ordering a dozen donuts from a different donut place each week, and I knew I couldn't skip Mag's.
I ordered an assorted dozen and was so impressed by how much they've upscaled their branding. Their new boxes are so cute!! I added a good amount of specific requests and they listened to all of them, so shout out for the attentiveness.

Sadly, I'm not a huge fan of Mag's donuts.
I've been to Mag's before and ordered regular cake donuts, donut holes, and their maple bacon donut. I didn't understand the hype behind their blueberry donut, I don't like the artificial blueberry taste that is very strong in this donut. I've had the blueberry in regular cake donut and donut hole form and it's really not good. I've had it warm/fresh once and it was slightly better, but again nothing spectacular and I'm not a fan of the artificial blueberry taste.
As for their regular donuts, it is just

Its been awhile since my last visit at this Mag's location and since I got a coupon for a free donut, I'm due for some sugar rushes.
From the premium selection I got a "Maple Bacon Donut". It's pretty good, so far this is the best I've tried around the neighborhood because their version of the donut is softer. Once you bite into it the frosted maple glaze is infused sweetness along with saltiness from the bacon pieces. In the end it's really sticky. I paired it with an iced coffee to complete the experience.
Also, my son loves their "Everything Bagels
