I can't believe that I haven't left a review for Blackmarket in DTSA when I've been going there for years now. One of their mottos is "powered by butter," and they truly are. All of their ingredients - in addition to the butter - are natural and of high quality. I've loved everything I've had there - from the tarts - black widow, derby, to the cookies - shortbread, butter, Russian tea, cinnamon rolls, sandwiches - avocado, artichoke, brie, to my favorite drink - Santa Ana Fog. The space itself is very cool - lots of wood and art. Their Costa Mesa branch is also

This Blackmarket location is located on busy Broadway and has street parking available in front of the store. The parking is metered and costs $1.50 an hour. It's located next door to Proof Bar. I visited on a weekday morning around opening time and waited a while to order as both employees were busy making food and being cashiers. I ordered the Matcha Dreams latte with almond milk and the Farmhouse breakfast sandwich without ham and with a biscuit instead of a brioche bun. You can also have the sandwich on a croissant for $1.50 more. I like that the music isn't too loud in the cafe and

This location is much bigger than the Costa Mesa bakery. It's seems a little out of place in the area but it has a great downtown vibe.
I went in with four others and we all ordered sandwiches and coffee drinks.
Everyone enjoyed everything. The sandwiches were definitely big enough to share.
The ingredients are high quality and the bread is baked in-house. What else could you ask for?
We all grabbed a few pastries to take home with us because they all looked amazing. The pastry case is full of cakes, cookies, cinnamon rolls, scones, etc...
The barista was friendly and the rest of the staff

I was not impressed with the food and drinks as much as I was with the display. The mini camper display was cute. Fresh Prince was not lacking flavor because it tasted like nothing. The hot chocolate was, well, just hot, not exactly most delicious. The real issue for me was the wait... It took over 30 minutes for my food and drinks! Maybe it was understaffed, but to wait so long for food and drinks in the morning was quite frustrating. Overall, just an average.

Mainly judging there coffee to be honest if your looking at getting coffee there wouldn't recommend it there's Cafe Cultura not to far on left or my favorite one Coffee Muse a few blocks down the right
A lil embarrassed I usually have a lot of coffee shop from various locations but this one gave me the runs lol The coffee tasted pretty bad I don't believe it was dialed in properly I could barely taste the oat milk however the Farmhouse eggy sandwich was good and staff was very nice & polite I haven't had there desserts but I'd asume those are tasty aswell

This cute quaint little spot is awesome. The ambiance alone impressed me. The decor from my past got me all excited when I looked for the lunch pail I took to school when I was a kid. The people working there were very friend and had a laid back homey kinda feel. The baked goods were placed so nice and cute. They looked delicious. I'm staying away from sweets so I couldn't partake. I ordered a sandwich which was absolutely delicious. It was piled with Turkey. Not stingy at all on the meat. I can't wait to go back and try something else at this bakery.

Just picked up sandwiches and coffees to go. Great tasting sandwich, but paid and extra $1.50 to have one of the sandwiches on a croissant, came home to find out they didn't even put it on a croissant... that's an expensive upgrade to not be upgraded. Too far to go back now...so had to deal :(
Good coffees though.

Read some bad reviews about the staff at other local coffee spots and decided to come here instead. So glad I did. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. Everyone is super friendly. Although they offer a wide variety of traditional bakery items, there are also a lot of options for plant based people. I had the avocado toast & an oatmilk latte. Holy guacamole! That's a lotta avocado! #avocadotoast #this@#!%ishot

One of the most delicious breakfast sandwiches I’ve had in the Southern California area.
My friend told me about this place so I had to check it out. I ordered the Souther Comfort breakfast sandwich. It was so filling and delicious!
I also ordered the pop tart, which was so tasty and not your average pop tart.
Service was super friendly and efficient. There was also a lot of parking space in the parking area, which made it really easy to grab my food and go.
I recommend this place if you are looking for some comfort food for breakfast!

I love everything about Blackmarket Bakery. They have filling sandwiches, delicious lattes, rich pastries and outstanding service. I always feel welcome and I always enjoy being helped by Savannah, she's so sweet!
To save time I call ahead or order online through their website. My order is always ready on time.
I haven't had anything I haven't liked. You can tell they're passionate about their creations, it's definitely quality you can taste.
Thank you for being awesome!

My biggest gripe about this place is the hours of operation, but now that I'm working from home I've been able to order food from here! Recently got an egg sandwich and it did not disappoint! It tasted fresh and home made and there's just something about eggs on toast with all the fillings as a comfort food. I don't eat eggs on a normal basis so this was a treat for me and I'd suggest trying this over an egg McMuffin from McDonald's or any other fast food restaurant. I actually stopped in and ordered this and it was ready within 6 to ten minutes. Of course there&apos

I came after 2 pm on a Monday and bread was half off? I don't know if this always the case, but I was absolutely elated. If you're tired of getting typical Sara Lee, I highly suggest going to black market baker! They have such a large variety of pastries, coffee, cakes, and breads. There's a lot of outdoor seating and parking in this plaza as well, and there's many shops around the corner if you wanted to do a bit of shopping!

I was around the area, so I decided to get a snack mid morning. I found this bakery on yelp, and I could say I would gladly visit it again if I was in the area. During Covid times, patrons are able to eat outside if there's space or just take to go. I got a snickerdoodle cookie and my BF got the pumpkin caramel bread pudding ( I think I got the name wrong). Anyways, I loved my cookie, fresh from the oven and the bread pudding was warmed up. We finished it in the car, I mean didn't wait to take it home, really.

Downtown Santa Ana. Some street front parallel parking, but you'll likely have to pay. Mostly indoor communal seating. A few private tables inside and maybe one tiny set up outside. You order at the register, find a seat and they'll bring it to you. Friendly service.
We saw the southern comfort (sausage biscuit with egg, cheese and gravy) on insta and had to try it. Also, the two of us went with the fresh prince (vegetarian breakfast sandwich) to cancel out the unhealthiness. That's how it works, right? Both were good, but not out of this world, especially for the price. $8ish each

There's street parking (mostly metered) near this location. I typically come in the morning on weekends and I've never had problems finding a spot!
I absolutely love Blackmarket Bakery and really don't think you can go wrong with anything! I love their breakfast sandwiches and pastries, and we've even bought their brioche buns to take home for burgers and things. My go to sandwiches are the farmhouse with avocado, or southern comfort with gravy on the side so I can choose how much I want. Their dark chocolate croissant is a must too!
The staff at this location is always so

I've been coming here as of late during the summer with friends.
I get the 16 oz. iced Mocha or the 16oz. iced Vanilla Latte.
They have stamp cards, so that every time you come back, you can get it stamped. By the 8th visit you can get a free drink.
They have other bakery items. Personally I love their avocado toast. Second coming in is their ham and Swiss cheese croissant & their Jalapeno Bacon Popper. They're very buttery, flakey, and massive. It fits well within a reasonable budget.
They also have desserts. Their current and available flavor that I love is their Black Widow

Popped in here for a quick brekkie bite, as I happened to be in DTSA for business. The bakery is quite spacious and it blends in well with the DTSA vibe. The inside is narrow but long. They have tabletops and counter space for those who want to hang out.
I am not much of a breakfast or baked goods person, but I was hungry and decided to get a little something. The Farmhouse Eggywich immediately jumped out at me on the menu - eggs, bacon, ham & cheddar on a brioche bun! This breakfast sandwich can turn any non-breakfast eater into a BIG fan! The sandwich was a decent size and the brioche bun

Appearance-wise, the food here looks gourmet amazing; too bad the taste, even though tasty, just are not as good as how they look.
I wanted a Wild Thing (mushrooms, shallots, brie, & roasted garlic on brioche buns) and they gave me the Cheesy Fun Guy (bacon, cheddar, mushrooms, & shallots on seeded sourdough) sandwich instead. Maybe the cashier girl thought I am what I eat :(. Both sandwiches seem close enough in the descriptions. The mushrooms were really savory. The only problem was the cheese overpowered the taste of everything else, making it less delicious - probably that's why
