Sodaro Estate Winery
Sodaro Estate Winery was founded in 1998 by Don and Deedee Sodaro. Rooted in a deep love of agriculture, its inception was drawn from Don's lifelong passion for farming, which began at age 10 on his father's land in Illinois. Among the quiet of the countryside Don found endless tranquility, and in its bounty he developed a profound appreciation for the art of growing fruit.

Decades later, after launching a successful chain of inns across America, Don purchased property in Napa Valley. He hired an experienced vineyard manager and set out to build a world-class vineyard in an area now known as Coombsville AVA, revered for its exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon. Years of testing and planning ensued before Don and his vineyard manager planted even a single seed.
Services
We're fortunate to grow our grapes in a climate and on terroir that is nothing short of perfection. Our foothills are formed by volcanic ash, covered in alluvial flows and cobblestone-streaked layers of rich loam. The nearby San Pablo Bay regulates the cold in the winter and heat in the summer, creating moderate conditions that are impeccable for allowing grapes to mature slowly and ripen evenly.
Luxury wines are the result of elaborate artistry, an unending dedication to the winemaking craft. They are tales of age-old soil, lilting hillside and a tender breeze. To capture the novel of nature's harmony inside a glass.this is what it means to make luxury wine. Gravel, volcanic ash and cobblestones provide the right drainage and encourage vines to grow in soil perfect for Cabernet Sauvignon.
Membership in our Scion Society Wine Club offers VIP treatment and priority access to all our latest releases. As a member you will receive special pricing for all wines and occasional offers of our rare library wines throughout the year. We can promise you a memorable Napa Valley experience and hope to see you soon.

Sodaro will now forever be our favorite winery as we got engaged on the property this week! Jorge was a great host - giving us a tour of the vineyard, cellars and tasting room leaving me totally unsuspecting. The wine was exceptional, views incredible and it was our pleasure to bring home quite a few bottles to celebrate in the years to come. Don't miss out on this beautiful spot!

The grounds and winery are beautiful and we had a great experience. Jorge was an awesome host and we had great conversation about the wines and the wine business. The charcuterie board he ordered in was superb. We ordered a number of wines and will definitely be be back. The visits are by appointment only and we visited in August.

Wine snobs rejoice! If you are looking to be told exactly how to enjoy wine and how you've been doing it wrong all these years, this is your place and Jorge is your man. No longer do you have to muddle through life without the judgemental eye of a two bit wine estate employee.

The views are great and the wine is so-so if you can withstand the insufferable attitude of the staff. Cheers!

We booked this place last minute because it was so close to where we were staying in downtown Napa and it was our favorite winery of the entire weekend (out of 6 total!)!
The estate is utterly gorgeous and the tasting was exclusive - it was just me and my husband sitting on the patio casually tasting the wines with sweet John. Everything was surprisingly delicious - even the rose, which we don't typically drink. It didn't feel as forced as some of the other tastings we went to and just reinforced why we love and prefer the boutique winery tastings to the well known ones.

We had such a great time at Sodaro. The grounds are BEAUTIFUL and the overall experience was wonderful. It is a private winery/vineyard that many people (even local to Napa) had never heard of... and we benefited from that as we were able to make reservation the day before. The wines were delicious and our tasting in a private tasting room in their cave with John was lovely- he is very informative while keeping it easy going. Currently, they are not allowed to advertise because of the type of permit they have... that is why there is not a lot of information about them out there. This is definitely

My aunt and I were able to make a last minute reservation and they were very accommodating! The grounds are absolutely stunning and the wine maker (Leo was his name I believe) was very nice. Our tour guide (I can't remember his name, so sorry!), was new but you wouldn't have known that. Their story was fun and their wines different. Felt a little salesy at the end to purchase, but other than that, get this winery on your list.

What an unbelievable experience our wine tasting was at Sodaro! So glad I found these yelp reviews even if most were a few years old. Private vineyard/winery off the beaten path. One of the most beautiful settings in all of Napa! John gave 10 of us a great tour and tasting in the totally cool cave. He was knowledgeable but down to earth as we lobbed questions at him. Different than any wine tasting experience have ever had. Even brought our own picnic and stayed afterwards to enjoy the beautiful view which made us feel like we were in Provence! This tasting was the highlight of our Napa trip.

Great wine! Excellent pairings! Andrew is an excellent host. And the wine cave/tasting room is beautiful. Absolutely loved trying the wine out of the cask as is was still aging. This was my first private tasting experience and the winemakers and staff at Sodaro really set the bar high for all other private tastings. The grounds are beautiful, and it was great to walk around with my glass of wine after hearing a little bit about the history of the estate. Thank you for the great experience.

Best winery we visited while in Napa Valley for four days. The wine was best reds by far out of many wineries. Even though it was raining the view was great & tasting room was nice. You do need to have an appointment. (Napa your way tours brought us here). The actual tasting was relaxing and we liked being able to compare .. Even though we really couldn't decide what we liked best! Our favorite by far - Thanks!

OMG can't believe I'm telling about this gem we found I want them to be successful but not too much because I don't want them to lose there site with getting to big. What a amazing place to visit and drink the wine. I have been 3 different times Andrew was a amazing host. I have left there happy and a bit smaller wallet because I have ordered many bottles (cases). I can't say enough about this gem it's a must see/visit. See you soon Andrew I'm out of wine ;0).

Cheers

This was the first winery I visited during my Napa tours and also where I proposed to my girlfriend. Andrew worked with my driver to set up a perfect location to propose, and then we had an amazing private tour of the grounds and cave. The wines were excellent and he paired them perfectly with local cheeses.

Also, the views were the best of the wineries we visited. We will definitely be back and are very thankful for Andrew making it a special experience.

First winery where I have enjoyed drinking a Cab - they make some truly great stuff. We got to visit Sodaro through a private tour group and really enjoyed our visit. Andrew was our guide and he gave us a tour of the grounds as well as the cave where they store their wines and do their crush.

Overall a beautiful experience. They even paired cheese to the wines we got to taste at the end which I thought was a very nice touch.

The best stop on our recent tour to Napa.
Andrew was incredible and we are still enjoying the wines we purchased. Living in Arizona, you never know careful the shipper will be...and Andrew took exceptional (yes, exceptional) care of us.

We had a terrific private tasting experience accompanied by local artisan cheeses and bread. Can't say enough about Sodaro and Andrew.....visit and you will know.

Gorgeous estate located in the Coombsville District, so its a close jaunt to downtown Napa. Fabulous views, and some of the best reds I have had the pleasure of tasting! A reservation is required, but definitely worth the planning to experience this romantic vineyard.

This was by far the best winery tour and tasting that my girlfriend and I have ever experienced. We attended a tasting and tour, setup by our driver (Lonnie's Wine Tours, which is also the best of the best for getting around Napa), and upon entering the beautiful grounds, were treating to a private tour of the wine cave. The tasting included a sample of all of their reds, including getting to try some right out of the barrel! The host, Andrew, was absolutely fantastic, with his knowledge of wine, the Sodaro family and the method they use for turning out some of the best wines I've ever
