In my mind, everything had to be authentic, or it wouldn't be worth the effort. Faking it in any way might be all right for others, but I would know the difference, making it a failed attempt to explore my passion for medieval architecture. You simply can't build an 'old structure' using modern techniques and tools.
Castello di Amorosa produces classically structured Italian-style wines that reflect California's unique climate, soil, and growing conditions. Our philosophy is to make elegant, intensely flavored, and well-balanced wines that showcase the "terroir" of each unique vineyard site. In this way, we can experience the flavor and aromas of the vineyard itself.
In this way, we can experience the flavor and aromas of the vineyard itself. We are committed to using traditional approaches to the craft of winegrowing and winemaking, but also incorporate modern techniques and equipment when it improves quality. Villa Amorosa Butala Cresta d'Oro Morning Dew Boonville Melanson Morisoli Don Thomas Rapp Voyager Promissio Boschetti Bien Nacido Henry.
Castello di Amorosa is recognized the world over for our quality wines, heartfelt hospitality, and stunning location. The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Il Barone (there's 5% Merlot in the blend) is a selection geared to be a rich, powerful wine and it succeeds admirably, offering full-bodied richness and depth, awesome tannin quality, no hard edges, and a complex notes of black and blue fruits, Asian spices, chocolate, and earthy, forest floor nuances.
Seldom does one find a property as picturesque as Castello di Amorosa. Situated on a rolling hillside, the Castello rises majestically from the colorful vineyards. As you make your way through the many rooms, courtyards, loggias, and cellars, you'll be amazed by the finesse and ambiance. Indeed a "Castle of Love".

Came here on a Sunday for a 2:30pm wine tasting appointment and it was perfect timing. We got to choose 6 different wines to taste and some surprisingly came with a piece of chocolate to pair with! DOLCINO, GewĂ¼rztraminer was my favorite and it had hints of lychee! Each table also comes with water and some wafers. We then spent a couple hours exploring parts of the castle and were able to watch the sky turn pink as the sun set. It was also super convenient to be able to order the wines we wanted and just pick it up at the end of our self guided tour, rather than having to lug it around.

This is the most beautiful winery we have been to and should be on everyone's list when in Napa. Right now, the grounds are accessible with a reservation or pickup only.
Our server was very knowledgeable and we loved our interactions with her. The amazing castle does not take the focus away from the wines though and all the wines, especially the sweeter ones, are delicious. You also get tips on what to pair it with.
I definitely recommend coming here the first thing in the morning and plan to spend around 2-3 hours here, if you are also taking lots of pictures.

Came here for a wine tasting and it was a really pleasant experience: great wine, great staffs. This place is very picture worthy as well. Walking around the castle was quite interesting. A little farm with hens and goats was adorable. I’d definitely recommend visiting!

The castle tour was fun, and the wine tasting was delicious. Aside from a small charcuterie board for $40, there is no food to be had though. We were kind of hungry, so that was no fun. Lol

We did the self-guided tour and walked around the castle. It is gorgeous, and the story of its history is a good one. We played Princess for a day and had a great time. It's too expensive with not a lot of options for us to be a do-over, but I am really glad we did it once.

Castello di Amorosa is simply beautiful inside and out! We started off day 1 of the new year here what a way to ring it in! You need reservations to enter, we did the tasting experience with chocolates of course! It's really cold in the castle so make sure you bundle up! Our Sommelier was such a cheerful warm dude who knew his stuff! I don't remember his name unfortunately (too much wine ) You don't really need to tour as the grounds are so beyond beautiful so much to see! It was cold full of sunshine type of day you can see from my photos that the entire area was so beautiful, the

Ok, I'm coming here too much and spending way too much money.

First trip, bought $2k worth of wine and got a free membership.

Second trip, bought $3k worth of wine and got some membership upgrade.

Third trip, only $200. Lol not today Castello, not today.

There's a reason I spend so much. They have some very delicious wine and the place is beautiful and our kids enjoy seeing the animals.

Took our friends visiting from Boston on a tour of the famous Castello di Amorosa. We opted for the guided tour of the castle with wine tasting and glad we did. Our tour guide Amy was so enthusiastic and amazing. She took her time to take us through the castle, explained the wine making process and some cool facts. She also answered all our questions very patiently. The whole tour took around 2 hrs and it ended with the wine tasting. On the tour we got to taste a wine from the barrel. In addition, we got 6 more wines of our choice from the menu. I wasn't too impressed by their wines but overall

My husband and I have been wanting to come here for years. We scheduled our wine tasting ahead of time which I believe you do need reservations. We enjoyed our wine tastings and I fell in love with some of the wines. I loved the La Fantasia, Rosato, and the 2019 Anderson Valley Late Harvest Gewurztraminer. We really liked the 2018 Bien Nacido Vineyard Chardonnay. This place is so beautiful!

I am emailing to provide feedback for a wine tasting I had on 12/5/2021 with a group of 4 adults and 3 children. I am a wine member and had a pleasant experience my first time at the castle. This review is for my second experience there.

My group got to the winery on time but it took almost 30 minutes to seat us; people who arrived after us were seated before we were. After being seated, our server introduced himself and said he would be going to lunch and that another server would cover him. The entire time our server was out to lunch, we were not served, for over an hour. No water, no breadsticks

This place is literally a castle, so I came with the expectation that it would be touristy and didn't have very high hopes. However, once doing the seated wine tasting, I enjoyed the wines and my stay here so much more than I thought I would!

There is a whole list of wines ranging from red, rose, white, and sweet, so for the tasting we were able to pick any 6 that we wanted to try. I came with some friends who were well versed in wine and some who barely drank. I appreciated the variety of wines to cater to anyone, especially with their options in sweet ones.

My favorite wine was dolcino

This place is beautiful, however it gets super crowded. Sit upstairs if you can, it's a lot more quiet than the courtyard downstairs. This is the winery you take everyone who is visiting California too because it's quite impressive and the wine is pretty good too. Only thing is, this place is really commercialized. When you buy wine, you have to buy it downstairs near the exit. I'm more in to boutique wineries where the service and experience is a lot more intimate. This place does have a little farm with sheep and stuff near the exit, which is extremely cute. Overall, come here

Castello di Amorosa is an okay castle and definitely not worth the $55 tasting fee. They advertise beautiful sunset views at the top of the castle as a selling point but they're just all right.

Not at all surprised seeing lots of influencers there taking pictures and not staying for the wine, which I can understand why. The wines are very average compared to what you can get from nearby wineries. It's strange because V. Sattui wines (same owners) are a lot better than Castello's.

Unfortunately you do have to pay to explore the castle even if you don't want to stay for the

This was my first time wine tasting. Great experience and really nice ambience. Took a reservation. However there was about 20 min wait time. Suggestion to open more heaters near the wait area. It gets pretty chilly. Beautiful castle and really nice people. Went with parents. They loved the experience and the ambience as well.

We loved it! They only sell their wines direct either on-site, or by mail order. We did the six wine tasting and self-guided tour. The wines were fantastic too. There are enough varieties to appeal to all tastes.
This castle was clearly a labor of love with a focus on authenticity.
There are lots of wine tasting options in Napa Valley. This is the most unique and interesting by far.

We had the most incredible time at the Castello! The wine tasting was superb and our host, Heri, made it fun and educational! Our large group of 9 plus an infant were seated comfortably at a large table. The wines were stellar and we ordered quite a bit of wine! Thanks, Heri, for being awesome!
Additionally, exploring the castle after dark was gorgeous. The lighting, crazy murals, and overall vibe of the castle was second to none. Such a special experience - we are all so glad we went!

I came with my family during Thanksgiving week and it was super busy! Upon arrival, have your reservation number ready to enter the winery grounds, especially if you have multiple cars in your party.

The whole experience at Castello di Amorosa was super fun - you can explore the various rooms in the castle, learn about the wine making process, take pictures, browse in their gift shop, etc. The Tuscan architecture and artwork were super beautiful and their bathrooms were super clean too!

We reserved wine tastings (You can select up to 6 pours) for the adults in our party and my sisters were

What's up: When we planned our trip to Napa, this castle kept popping up on our search results and we just had to go and see it. It's not like we go out to visit castles very often...and we get to grab some drinks while we're at it! Yea, let's go wander around a castle!

Parking: Parking was easy to find and it was plentiful.

Environment: Masks are required unless you're drinking. We checked in at the front entrance and were directed to go downstairs to the tasting room. Before heading down, we explored the castle a bit. Each location/room had a description as well as

If you are looking for one day get away with amazing wine tasting tour, then this is the place to go.
They have great wine tasting tours with cheese pairing. And I love their Cabernet Sauvignon.
Castle itself is very beautiful and the guide would tell you in detail how it was built. It’s a great story of passion.

A very unique wine tasting experience. Napa wine tasting is bougie anyway so why not make it even more extra by drinking wine in a castle. Came with a group of four on a rainy Sunday afternoon. We made a tasting reservation a couple of weeks in advance and were seated right away.

The tasting comes with your choice of 6 wines. There are plenty of wines to choose from. My party really enjoyed the wines but none of them worked for me. I'm not a big wine drinker so I think it's just my palette and preference. I still enjoyed the tasting experience. Our server was excellent and had a great

This place is pretty touristy. Yes, it's a nice castle, but come on! The wine tasting is pretty good considering that the people around us had rarely ever even drank wine before. The gentleman behind us was purchasing plain grape juice! The self guided tour was fine. It would be a great setting for a wedding.

Stunning property. When you book a tasting, you're free to roam the castle grounds and this is definitely the highlight of the visit.

The tasting room is beautifully decorated with well curated products, ranging from pastas and olives to branded chocolates and lotions. For the tasting you select 6 wines to sample (appreciate the flexibility) - note the term "sample" here because they were the smallest pours out of all the winery tastings we did. I'm talking 2 sips kind of pours -- this was very disappointing and dampened the experience. They did include complimentary crackers

It is a beautiful winery place where you can spend half a day easily. I would recommend you to plan well when you visit this winery because it is a beautiful and huge property. And you will need to either book wine tasting or purchase 3 bottles of wine to enter this place. My husband and I tried the wine tasting here. We chose 5 different wines out of their lists. We were seated where we could look down the courtyard. The selection of wine was good, but I expected great. The server brought us the same wine and skipped the one we chose once or twice, so I would recommend you to double check what

Cool castle to explore. It is a fun place with a unique concept in the area. Wines were not that good compared to other wineries in the Napa area, which are among the best in the world, but it was a different experience.

If you are a big wine connoisseur, this may not be the place for you. If you like a little fantasy and theme parks, you will enjoy visiting this castle. It is definitely a beautiful place. It reminded me of the Italy Pavillion in Epcot.

The staff at the wine tasting room was friendly and helpful. Tasting room is underground and the walls are decorated with beautiful hand-painted

This place is incredible! Just wow! An actual castle, it's an experience in itself even before the wine. We did the reservation with the chocolates and 6 wines a piece tasting. We were seated outside up high on some balcony area. It was Beautiful and right near a blooming garden. The chocolates were almost too cute to eat, but they were delicious!! The wines.. I have to come back here soon or at least see if I can also order online? I loved one of their Chardonnay's! I took bottles home of course but there's no way these are staying around for long lol! So we chose to visit this winery because I saw that it was kid friendly and of course we were going to have our daughter with us. I made a reservation online for a seated tasting with a chocolate add on.

We arrived early so we decided to walk around outside the castle and take pictures. The place was beautiful! There were benches all around to sit and admire the view of the castle or vineyards. We also saw some turkeys wandering around.

When it was our time for our tasting, we headed in past the drawbridge to check in. We were immediately brought back to a table near the center of the castle
