Services
At Applegate Dance Studio our biggest pride is in creating an affirming, friendly, fun, family-like atmosphere. It is important to us that our dancers are challenged and flourish both physically and mentally. It is important to us that each student at our studio feels special and well taken care of.
Applegate Dance Company was founded in 1992 by Lisa Applegate- Zimanyi and is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. ADC is a is known in the greater Sacramento area for providing professional looking shows with an army of amateur dancers. The company aims to give young performers the chance to experience the magic of being in a top notch show.
We offer a wide ranges of fun and encouraging dance and fitness classes for ages 3 to adult. Adult classes are available as regular classes and as one time drop-in classes, while most youth dance courses require enrollment for the full session. Classes are typically offered at our Davis dance studio located on the east side of town in the Village Homes community.
Our youth dance classes are designed to create an affirming, friendly, fun, family-like atmosphere that empowers dancers to flourish both physically and mentally. We offer a wide range of drop-in group fitness classes for adults of all abilities. Each class is based on a foundational understanding that a soul's artistry flourishes best when it is nurtured through a sense of confidence, self-esteem, joy, and accomplishment. Adult classes include Zumba, Barre Workout, Hula, and Beginner to Intermediate Adult Ballet.

Applegate Dance Studio is located in the peaceful Village Homes Community. I love looking out the window during an exercise class and seeing the bunny jumping around on the grass and my community members walking their dogs. I feel like I belong to something really special and this energy motivates me. The exercise classes give me the benefit of slowing down my mind and appreciating all that my body gives me every day. As someone with chronic auto immune disease, I enjoy the adult ballet class and barre classes---because I can gently improve my strength and coordination. I also enjoy Zumba. The

It has been a great pleasure in the past ten years to watch my daughter dance and grow at Applegate, and make life-long friends. As a dance-lover myself, I also took some adult dance classes there, and had lots of fun. If you have ever seen an Applegate annual show, you'd agree that Applegate is a magical place! I would highly recommend it to any kids or adults who enjoys dancing.

Applegate has such an incredible community that you truly can't find anywhere else. The moment you set foot in the studio you can just tell that everyone is there to have fun and support one another through dance. It's an amazing place to learn and grow, and you'll also get make lifelong friends along the way!!!

Applegate has been my second family for the last 10 years of my life! I'm so glad to have had adults like Lisa and Stephanie to guide me, not only through ballet, but through life in my development as person as well. The studio is on the smaller side, but that just means the community is more tightly-knit than you get at other studios. Every dancer here is super friendly and there are no negative relations between anyone if you choose to have a child learn ballet here!

This Dance Studio is a totally unique place, where magic is created every day in a safe, creative, artistic environment. Young girls and grown women all enjoy becoming moving bodies of art. Applegate dancers create a sense of community and belonging not found at any other dance studio. Alumni of the studio return DECADES after graduating, and continue supporting the shows and the studio's work. They enroll their own daughters to the same studio, whose shows once they themselves starred in. If you want to be a part of something completely unique, then knock on the door.

I danced at Applegate for 13 years and was part of the company for five years. Applegate is the most unique dance experience you will ever have. It inspires dancers to work harder and learn new styles, while at the same time forming everlasting friendships!
No matter what type of day I was having, when I walked through that door I was immediately greeted with smiles and people who loved me. Instead of viciously competing with other girls, we were happy for each other and understood we each had different strengths.

I love Applegate dance studio. It's a very supportive, healthy environment for students of dance to learn their art no matter what their level of experience. The instructors are very professional and caring and expose students to a wide variety of dance styles, not just ballet. One summer, they even had an Indian dance class series taught by someone from one of the UCD Indian dance troupes! It was super fun and even I was doing some Bollywood dance steps by the end of the day!

This studio is so amazing I can't say enough good things about it. I spend 5 years there not just dancing but really being part of a family. The worst part about graduating and moving away was having to leave Applegate Dance. Taking class there was so fun but I also learned so much. The showcase choreography was always incredibly creative and technical. I've yet to find another studio that even slightly compares to Applegate. Lisa is so loving and wonderful at what she does I would recommend this studio to anyone interested in dance.
