Dr. Tran is originally from northern California, but he fell in love with the finest city when he moved to San Diego to work as a dental assistant in his uncle's office. Dr. Tran has been interested in dentistry from a young age when he would observe at his uncle's practice. After graduating from University of California, Berkeley, Dr. Tran went on to the University of California at San Francisco to earn his DDS and MBA.

Dr. Tran did a wonderful job about my fillings and onlay. My biting is very even and I feel my gum is much better now. Dr. Tran also took two of my wisdom teeth. Each of them only took 3 min, which I was very impressed. He is very patient to explain everything to me with details. Overall, Origin Dental is very clean and professional. I have already recommended them to two of my friends.

I was very skeptical about finding a new dentist since I've been going to the same one since I was three, but it was time (after five years of living in San Diego). So a friend of mine had recommended Dr. Tran to me for my search for a new dentist! I loved how I was able to make my appointment online so it wasn't a hassle to do all the new patient information/insurance stuff in the office.

Found this place last year and got a cleaning and a crown done. I meant to write my review back then but completely forgot, this place is amazing! My crown broke off due to some bad eating habits and care on my end but they were able to get me in immediately next day to fix it. I had to leave a message at first but they called me back within an hour. I had to reschedule day of and they were very nice and moved me to the very next day. Dr. Tran is awesome, he makes sure to educate you everything and you can tell he’s very passionate about what he does. Staff as well as Dr. Tran are all very efficient

I was able to get an appointment quickly. After the initial examination, I needed treatment which I was able to get right away. No waiting. The service was amazing & Very gentle. I did not feel any pain or discomfort. I was in & out of Origin dental in about an hour. That included check in as a new patient, examination which included X-rays, and needed treatment. The staff there are very kind & friendly. Highly recommend this place, especially if you are nervous about dentists in general.

I have said it twice already but third time is a charm right?! Dr. Tran and his staff are the absolute BEST. If you have an anxiety about going to the dentist - he and his staff will make sure you are well taken care of. My husband dreaded the dentist and didn't go for YEARS! Dr. Tran made him feel welcome and didn't pass judgement at all. He spent his first visit chatting and examining my husband to put together the perfect plan for him. Always love the professionalism from the moment that I walk in here. Dr. Tran really does a good and thorough job looking at the condition of my teeth and I feel that he gives an honest assessment rather than pressures clients to get something done. This office is great I started coming to them a few months ago because I needed a good dentist and they have such good reviews. I love that they are always punctual and never make me wait. All of the staff is friendly and professional and Dr Tran has been top notch with his advice and diagnosis. He replaced a crown for a dental implant I got somewhere else and the process was easy and I feel like the dr really cares about my teeth. I will start by saying that before this appointment I hadn't been to the dentist outside of the Military in over 4 years. I also don't like the dentist due to a really bad experience when I was very young. Ive been with Origin Dental now for two years and I think they have a patient for life...or until at least Dr. Tran retires LOL.
I have had several dentists in the past with not so good experiences in both the waiting room and chair. The entire staff is friendly and for the first time in my life, I don't feel so tense in the chair. I literally feel relax from when I get the local anesthesia (he has great technique) to getting work done.
After getting two cavities taken care of today, I walked out, I love this dentist!

Dr. Tran and staff are awesome - The office is clean, modern and inviting. I hadn't been to their office in a few years; I unfortunately had to look elsewhere for another option, no fault of Origin Dental, due to my own personal budget constraints. Hindsight, truly wish I would have stayed with Origin dental. They recently fit me in their schedule next day, as my dentist was not available. That speaks volumes of their ethics and business practices. Really appreciate the level of attention received during my appointment as well!

Love, Love , LOVE Origin Dental. Staff is amazing, professional, caring and helpful. I've been going to Origin Dental for 2 1/2 years and they stay consistent with the amazing work they provide! Lovely, Sandra and Sherry at the front makes you feel welcome and comfortable. I came across Origin Dental on Yelp as I was searching for a general dentist after moving back from Washington. Temporarily due to my work contract I don't have insurance at the moment. So realizing that I will have to pay out of pocket I decided to go with this office anyways after reading some positive reviews. Origin Dental is the best dentist I've been to! They're very kind and polite every time I go in. Every question I've had they've been able to answer very thoroughly and are very informative. They genuinely care for your dental wellbeing, providing you the information you need to make the best decision. But at the same time they also aren't too pushy to make you uncomfortable, as I've seen with past Dentistries.

I recently switched dentists, and after my first visit to Origin Dental earlier today, I believe I made a great choice coming here. Everyone on the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable -- Carolina, Sandra, Michael, and most especially Dr. Tran.
I am always worried about going to a new dentist or doctor -- that as a new patient, they are going to sell you a bunch of procedures that you don't need and overcharge you for procedures that you actually get.
Not the case here. They have a new patient special where for $95, you get a full set of X-rays, dentist exam and treatment plan.

I have been coming here to see Dr. Tran for the past two years. I use to dread going to the dentist office before I switched over to his office. Most dentists I have interacted with felt more transactional than genuine care about my teeth. Dr. Tran really takes his time to educate and make you feel welcome the whole time you are there. I picked his practice at first based on close proximity to my last job but after switching to a new job. I still make the trip down to see him! Finding a general dentist amidst a pandemic can be daunting, but I'm very glad my searches led me here! The entire process, from registration to treatment to communication with the entire team has been nothing short of exceptional. So I'm fairly new to this area. I came to this dental office because I read really good reviews on Yelp. So I decided it was dental time! And honestly one of the best dental experiences I've had.
