Berrywine Plantations
In 1972, amidst rolling hills, dairy cows, and cornfields, a small vineyard was planted in the fertile soils of an old dairy farm. That one small vineyard has proudly become Linganore Winecellars. Now operated by the founder's children, we welcome you to share in our growing family tradition.

Linganore Winecellars cordially invites you to partake in an enjoyable and relaxed afternoon tasting our award-winning wines produced by our fertile soils, abundant sunshine, and skilled winemakers.See what we have going on at Linganore Winecellars, three generations of award-winning wines from Maryland's largest winery!
Services
Linganore Winecellars is a family-operated vineyard and winery nestled on 230 acres of picturesque rolling countryside, 4.5 miles northeast of historic New Market, Maryland. Established by Jack and Lucille Aellen in 1971, our first 6 acres of vineyards were planted in 1972 and the winery opened in 1976 in the lower half of a 19th-century post and beam barn which previously housed the farm's dairy operation.
Come visit us and enjoy our beautiful country setting, with trained staff to guide you through wine tastings that are uniquely ours. We have private tasting and tour & tasting options. All of these options are available via reservation. You are welcome to come in and purchase bottles and enjoy our spacious outdoors with music and food trucks every weekend.
There is a stone arch at the end of our driveway with a sign that says "Linganore Winecellars and Red Shedman Farm Brewery." As you come up the driveway, it will split. Take the left fork for the Tasting Room and Brewery, then continue to the large parking lot in front of the red barn. The Tasting Room is in the big, red barn and you enter through the white doors.
All of our chargers are complimentary, at no cost to our visitors. The solar universal chargers are located at the south end of the main parking area. The Tesla chargers are located on the west side of our warehouse (grey) building, just beyond the solar chargers. Our staff is knowledgeable of environmental impact and works to excel in our sustainability goals.
Wine, tastings and more can be purchased at any time during our hours of operation at the winery. For more information, email us at info@linganorewines.com or call 301-831-5889 during business hours. If your state is not listed on our page or if you have any shipping questions, please email us at info@linganorewines.com or call us at 301-831-5889 Monday-Friday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Only came for the brewery on site. Great selection and solid flavor profiles. I thought their vanilla porter was one of the best I've had. Large indoor and eslecially outdoor seating area makes it a great place for events. Huge, beautiful property. Only docked one star because I thought prices were a tad high given the large crowds (high volume sales).

Had a great time at the Reggae Wine Festival. I've been a couple of times. Good music and good fun. Being that I'm not a wine drinker I really only go to wineries for special events like this.

Love this place. Had a blast during the wine tasting (S/O to Lorrie for amazing service), enjoyed the music and beautiful views out on the lawn (appreciated the picnic benches) and the food trucks came in handy (food was delish).

Enjoyed the Reggae Winefest 2021! Linagore staff were very friendly and organized. They managed the flow of traffic through the fields very efficiently making it easy to find parking between Over 2000+ cars. The music was awesome and the wine was even better! Looking forward to next year!

Been coming to the reggae wine fest for years. This year ended up getting caught in a miniature hurricane/tornado but they had no control over that. Facilities were good, plenty of clean portapottys. Two complaints. 1. Can you guys cut your grass? It's very difficult trekking through grass up to your knees in the parking area. Especially since you made me park 1/4 mile from the entrance (and i wasn't late). 2. It's 2021, who doesn't accept contactless payments? I don't want to touch anything if i don't have to.

Great winery to bring the family and doggies. They have a dog park with plenty of water. They also provide picnic tables were you cam bring your food and eat there with a wine glass. They have clean bathrooms and they have options for beer drinkers. The wines are delicious and they have a ready to drink varied selection of wines. Definitely recommend!

Bring your own food and enjoy with their wines. Decent wines but the scene takes your breath away. The setting is pristine to enjoy wines, food and great company. Awesome evening place !

After visiting wineries nearby, we stopped at Linganore Winecellars for wine tastings, which must be purchased at the cashier. It's 5 tastings for $12. Among the ones I tried (Black Raven, Strawberry, Raspberry, Skipjack, and Mango Sangria), my favorites were Strawberry and Raspberry. My friends enjoyed the Cabernet Franc Reserve. All wines paired nicely with Perfect Truffle assorted chocolate truffles and chocolate bars.

This was our first outing post-shutdowns and I appreciated the considerations for health safety. Honestly things we should have been doing all along - washing our hands and giving some personal space. The food trucks were really good and of course the wine was a delight. Both bands were excellent! Perfect Saturday to enjoy the sunshine!

This place is very nice and unique. The staff inside are helpful and know a lot about the wines they make. You can even taste before you buy at the bar section inside or have a sit in the sitting area. I came this weekend for Weekends at the Winery. There was live music and wine tasting, ice cream to cool down with and the fantastic scenery. Might make this a regular thing from now on.

If you're seeking a large group event, somewhere to hang out on a beautiful spring day or enjoy a celebration, this is one of the best spots.

A friend of mine invited me out. She said, "bring your lawn chairs, games, etc." I thought this was a wine tour place? When I arrived, I immediately saw what she meant. This beautiful open FREE grounds invites the public to kick back and enjoy their open grass knoll and even has a grassy hill area for more pet-friendly interactions. Imagine going to an enclosed dog park but being able to socialize and drink with other humans while your kids

Oh-em-gee. Okay so look, I've been a fan of Linganore wines since I could drink; everyone knows they're a local favorite. I didn't feel the need to add another raving review UNTIL NOW! Their Mountain White grapes were harvested late this year and in my opinion produced their BEST Mountain White EVER. From the color, the smell, the mouth feel; it's just an amazing experience in this bottle. I truly hope they harvest like this going forward for the Mountain White because this literally was a winner! I'm tempted to order more and most likely will this week! They really outdid

First and foremost: The Wine is delicious! Your invites will love it all.

I planned my wedding in one month. My first step was locking down a venue. I loved the scenic vineyard background The Linganore Winery offered.

The Linganore is so romantic, effortless and comfortable. (The Abisso Hall was super spacious and made my family comfortable during COVID times).

They work with many vendors who are amazing and super professional, made it super easy to plan.

The staff was amazing!!! Knowledgeable, friendly, quick, helpful!! In moments of panic they handled everything for us.

Beautiful vineyard with lots of space to social distance. The wines are on the sweeter side but very enjoyable. You can bring your own snacks for picnicking, and dogs are also welcome!

Always love Linganore wines and tried a new one at the winery the other day. They had plenty of picnic tables to enjoy our wine at and play a card game. The reps in the store were super helpful and knowledgeable about what wines to try.

This experience was based on a wedding I went to! I'm only giving it 4 stars because the location is FAR and the pathway to get here is extremely scary!! Like "wrong turn movie" scary. This place is in mount airy and I advise that you come here on a full tank!! Nothing less than that because if you get stuck? Out here the next gas station is pretty far. And the gas stations I went to when my tank was on low were closed. Remember I said this lol

Anywho! The place itself is beautiful. So much land and I went on a day that was raining! Their food was ok. The wedding menu was a crab

Linganore's grounds are quite large and their expansive lawn is perfect for COVID. We got there on Sunday right when they opened and found a table on the outside patio and enjoyed our bottle of red wine. Most say wine isn't amazing but better than I expected. They had a Mexican food truck and live music was being set up as we were leaving. I'd definitely recommend this place as the journey here is just as pretty as the winery especially on a fall day!

I can't say anything about their wines or even the inside of their buildings. I had actually never even heard of this vineyard, but the hot-air balloon launch popped up on my Facebook feed as an event near me. I am so glad it did because the kids and I really enjoyed the event! The vineyard was beautiful... a great place to take pictures. And the guys from Tailwinds (one of the balloon companies launching the balloons) were fantastic!!! It was clear that they love their jobs. They were so friendly, answering questions, letting the kids touch the "envelope" and get inside the basket. I hope there
