Editor Consignment is a women's clothing boutique based in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood (1407 NW 70th St). Editor brings together contemporary recycled fashion, locally made jewelry and ceramics, and a rotating selection of essays and prose. Emily Schikora dreamed up the concept for Editor Consignment by combining some of her favorite things: treasure hunting, one-of-a-kind clothing, good books, new writers, and community.
23" x 23", 100% Cotton, hand screen printed. Use as a bandana, hankie, cloth napkin, neckerchief, cloth mask, and everything in between! Can be washed and dried on high heat, but may fade a bit. Wind, wrap, sling, tie, decorate, layout. These colorful handkerchiefs are useful and versatile. Made in Japan from lightweight cotton, they are handy to carry with you to use as a towel, napkin, scarf, headband, or accessory in your pocket.
Made in Portland, Oregon. Rich, deep and toasty orange, this balm will give your cheeks and lips a subtle wash of warmth that is stunning on its own or layered with other balms. Peddler documents the in-between moments of food - from the ingredients, to the making, the eating, the sharing, and all the small moments in-between.
We rely on consignors to help us fill our racks so we can continue to provide a rotating selection of curated, sustainable fashion. So how does consignment work? Here's a little bit about what we look for, brands we love and how our process works. We look for women's clothing, shoes, and accessories purchased new within the last 2-3 years and in new or like new condition.

Amazing selection! Bought two pairs of jeans (Madewell & Free People) that are high quality and in great condition! Also found two great t-shirts. The woman working there gave me honest advice about a couple pieces I was on the fence about. Loved their selection and will be back regularly to check for new pieces!

Did not feel comfortable leaving my clothes here with no receipt or anything to have them gone through. It would be helpful to know that even if you have an appointment to sell clothes that they will not be looking at your clothes for a few days and you're supposed to leave them at the shop until they contact you. I had a lot of high end clothes in perfect condition which I'll now be donating. Just felt weird to take time out of my day for an appointment when they don't actually look at your clothes during the time of your scheduled appointment...

Not POC-friendly. Came in a couple days ago with my two white friends. The store clerk (or owner, not sure) was cheery and conversational with them and didn’t say a word do me. I was the first of my friends to have a handful of garments to try on and standing right next to my friend, the store clerk came over and offered to take her clothes to start a fitting room. Again, no words or acknowledgement to me. Needless to say I didn’t purchase anything and I won’t be back.

On a recent trip to Seattle a few weeks ago, I walked by Editor one evening and saw the cutest pair of shoes in the window...then my gaze shifted upwards to a sweet pastel yellow Prada purse I spotted through the window *gasp* ...(purse of my dreams!) That was it, I knew I would be back the next day when the shop would be open. My husband prepared himself and made sure he had reading material downloaded to his phone so he could allow me the requested uninterrupted shopping time the next day :)
When I arrived the next morning I could barely contain my excitement- this was the BEST consignment shop

Bought a silk blouse online. Website was easy to navigate and there were several high-quality pictures of the item available. It was delivered quickly for a low delivery fee (around $5). The item was priced right and in excellent condition. I look forward to shopping here again! I cannot speak to the in-person experience as I have never been inside the store.

Editor Consignment has a fantastic selection. As another reviewer said, this will feel like a high-end shopping experience in the best way possible. I have experience consigning and buying from Editor and I must say that Emily is a pleasure to work with. The shop is adorable and fun to shop in - I plan on bringing friends here when possible!

This neighborhood gem of a shop is so well-curated and feels like a high-end shopping experience rather than your typical secondhand store. I ended up spending $400 in my first visit! Bought tons of cute sweaters, a couple dresses and a great pair of Sorel winter boots. Conveniently located across from Delancey in Ballard. Can't wait to go back!

This shop is adorable and so well-curated ('edited'). The owner, Emily, is the sweetest! She has worked very hard to bring this shop to Ballard. Bring in some clothes to consign, stop in to see her amazing inventory, or both! You will want to wear whatever you buy right out of the store (I know, because I did ).
