Staff: friendly
Location: excellent, very close to the city and national park
Facilities: decent overall, maybe good if renting cottage. For tenting, the area was nice in general, though it felt like primitive campsite as there was no water faucet in the area and even the bathhouse had no electrical outlets. The hot water turned cold in 2 minutes and then only cold water was available for shower.
Activities: gem mining & tubing was closed for the season, goat petting was open.
You could try and book the campsites in national park area and maybe better off in terms of facilities.

Loved the campground and site except when those who are near you don’t want to follow the rules. We had campers appear all around us, supposedly together, who ran generators until 10:00 p.m., children on skateboards (not allowed), dogs not on a leash, and children running through your campsite with flash lights and screaming at dark. I’m all for children having fun but not in your camp site and when lights are constantly shining through your windows. We even had adults trampling through our camp site headed to the bathroom when there is a perfectly paved road and path that leads to it. Camping

The location was central making it easily accessible to the places we wanted to go and the activities in which we planned to participate. The reason for 3 stars—and I really wanted to give only 2–we had 30 amp power and the breaker continually tripped so my husband was outside in the middle of the night to turn it back on more than a few times. We are well aware of power management and were practicing that but to no avail. We had to turn off the heat to use the microwave, for example, and most of the time, that wasn’t adequate. We were having to depend on the heat pump and couldn’t use

If you're planning to tent camp, don't come here! We reserved and paid for a campsite only to find it was a tiny space beside two RV's. Ugly and cramped. Who wants to camp in a parking lot?! Even the RV's were crammed together. Showers were lukewarm with no pressure. She wouldn't return our money so we camped at another very crowded area with other tents. Really disappointing. Bad experience

Facility is very clean, we loved the playground and feeding the goats. I liked that they had tubes for rent at the campground which was convenient but I would recommend getting them from down the road because the adult tubes don't have a back on them. Which would make your tubing experience much better! Overall loved the campground! We will be back!

Brought my Motorhome and loved the place. Convenient to many nice hikes and water venues. Beautiful rapid running creek which friends and others used for tubing. My site, #13, was muddy and could have used more gravel like some other sites but we had two large mats which covered most of where we walked. The sites are nice size and adequate. Dog-friendly area unlike most of GSMNP. Looking forward to returning next year.

Service was fast, easy, cheap, and friendly. Tubes are not highly quality though! The tubes we rented from them did not have back support on the adult sizes (but they did on the children’s sizes-🤨.) We didn’t even notice it until we started. The majority of other adult tubes on the creek did have nice back rests and it makes a huge difference in comfort level. In addition to that, my tubes air hole kept popping out the entire trip, which meant it was losing air a lot. Not a great quality when you’re tubing. Still had fun, and the place was still easy to work with!

Really enjoyed this campground. We tent camped. The creek felt great. No big issues other than a few flies . Bathrooms and shower were a little outdated, but clean. I mean you’re camping, it’s not suppose to be fancy. I really appreciated the sink outside near the bathhouse so I could wash my dishes. The sites were a little to close to each other but that’s the only negative thing in can think of. The store was well stocked and employees were all very nice and helpful. I will definitely return to this campground.

Perfect for families. Very quiet. Plenty of play areas for the kids. Even goats for the kids to feed and a gem mine on site. Traffic can be a little hectic during the weekend and during tube rentals. We plan on returning with more of our family and renting a bigger cabin.
