I am C.H.E.K Practitioner and Holistic Lifestyle Coach Lya Wodraska. A new perspective on health discovered through the C.H.E.K Institute helped me lose almost 30 pounds and achieve a level of health and vitality previously unknown to me. At Core Matters SLC I help you achieve your optimum level of health by getting to the core of your needs.

I can help you hone your diet, address physical deficiencies through corrective exercise programs, and prepare for a specific athletic event or sport by designing strength and conditioning programs. During these crazy times it is more important than ever for us to take care of ourselves. Stress is up and with gyms and even parks closed, exercise is down and the toll on our health and well-being is great.

Since I use a holistic approach, your activity levels, stress levels, medical issues, dietary problems and lifestyle influences play a large role in how your plan will be designed to help you reach your goals.

Programs and plans are developed to meet an individual's need, whether that need is for specific training for an event, an energizing program that focuses on rehabilitation from an injury or illness, or a stress-reducing plan that includes exercises and lifestyle changes to cope with an ever-increasing demanding world.Most people are aware having a strong core is crucial, but few know how to do the proper core exercises needed.
I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA, and I moved to Salt Lake City in 1996 and immediately fell in love with the environment in Utah. A cross country skiiing accident a few years later prompted me to take up spinning classes as part of my physical therapy. About the same time, a new perspective on health discovered through the C.H.E.K Institute helped me lose almost 30 pounds and acheive a level of health and vitality previously unknown to me.
The C.H.E.K Institute, based in San Diego, CA, was founded by Holistic Health Practitioner and Certified Neuromuscular Therapist Paul Chek. The institute is recognized world-wide for its corrective exercise, high-performance conditioning, and lifestyle and stress management programs. 1. Sleep - Get to bed by 10:30 p.m.
I give monthly seminars at BodyWise Fitness. These seminars are an affordable and convenient way to learn a lot of new skills so sign up for my seminar e-mail list to be notified of events. Breathing - Breathing is an action we do more than 20,000 times a day, yet most people don't breathe correctly.
I have used my varied C.H.E.K practitioner skills to travel with the band U2 to make sure the road crew stayed healthy. I served on the 2015 Innocence & Experience tour, the 2017 Joshua Tree 30 tour, and the 2018 Experience & Innocence tour. I was busy, overseeing more than 100 people, but enjoyed the challenge of keeping everyone rocking and rolling.
