Sylvia Hesse is an amazing doctor. She is genuinely passionate about the wellbeing of her patients. She takes time to assess the whole situation, explains everything and gave me many tips that helped me in my daily dealing with my condition. She is kind and knows that a patient is also a human. Dr Hesse has been a dream come true. Best doctor I've ever had. I came to her after a traumatic shoulder dislocation and she was very kind, understanding, and had a fantastic bedside manner in a no-nonsense but highly comforting way. What a wonderful experience! I was in NY with acute muscle pain and about to begin a weeklong (on my feet) buying trip. My chiropractor at home said I needed to find someone to give me a cortisone shot. I had no time to get one at home up north.
Dr Hesse saw me next day, evaluated my condition, and gave me an injection! She saved my business trip to NY and the subsequent 3 weeks of vacation!

I had a Meniscus Tear that I had been told could only be resolved via Surgery. I didn't want to undergo surgery so I looked for someone who understood this and would help me figure out an alternative.
Dr Sylvia was my saviour. She understood exactly what I needed and created a plan for me, to try alternative solutions. This took over a year. Anytime I went in for my appointment, I was always sure that I was in good hands because she is very thorough, understanding and knows what she's doing.

This is a review from a Physical Therapist. I have worked with her in the past and I absolutely LOVE sending patients to her. I frequently hear how surprised they are with the level of heartfelt and intelligent care they received from Dr. Hesse. She has also treated me for a number of things over the years. Dr. Hesse is one of the most caring doctors I've encountered in my entire life. Often with physicians I feel that they are rushing but dr. Hesse takes all the time in the world to visit and see you, asks all the questions, and listens to every concern you have carefully. She follows up and genuinely cares about your health. Dr. Hesse has helped me with several serious injuries and severe pain. I have been a patient of hers over multiple years and with multiple conditions (until I moved abroad). Dr Hesse is a great doctor, very methodical and very professional. She is very communicative and great at helping you understand what you can and can't do with the conditio you have. I had a stress fracture and she was quick to diagnose and help me navigate the recovery. Have seen her since and she has my complete trust

I love dr. hesse. i have multiple mobility problems as ell as pain and accidents. walking has become an exhausting chore. i dragged myself to her office yesterday. after treatment i slept through the night pain free and walked today several blocks free of stiffness and exhaustion.
she was recommended to me by one of my other doctors. i am so glad. i believe she will help me keep myself going as as is possible.

Dr Hesse did a great first check up on me and had me get an MRI and X-ray to find out what's going on. She suspected something and wanted to be sure. When results came in, she discussed them thoroughly with me and planned the next move. Her protocol for me is working. First time feeling this in over a year. Recovery will be slow. But I'm so encouraged because the problem has been determined. Yay.

Dr. Hesse was recommended to me by my osteopath and I have been recommending her since then. She is very thorough, warm and really takes her time with a patient. I have not encountered anything like her in Manhattan - she recommended therapy and gave me advice for daily life, which I really appreciated. My symptoms are gone, and I am happy I found a great orthopedist in case anything flares up again. She takes insurance as well, which is a great bonus.
