Barbell Rehab was created by Dr. Michael Mash, Physical Therapist and Barbell Coaching Expert to help fitness and rehab professionals improve their management of clients with pain or mobility limitations. He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2016 from Duquesne University and his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Saint Vincent College in 2014.
Learn how to coach and modify the barbell lifts for clients with pain or mobility limitations in this 2-day live certification event. 15.0 CCUs by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy approved or recognized in 40 additional states. Learn our step-by-step approach for how to modify lifts around pain in this live 15 hour CEU approved event.
Learn how to coach and modify the barbell lifts for those with pain or mobility limitations. 7.0 CCUs by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners recognized in 38 additional states. They may be told by a physician to stop lifting (because it's "bad" for you) or undergo unnecessary surgeries that keep them out of your gym for months.
Learn how to design effective strength training programs for clients who've had various orthopedic surgeries. If you're a personal trainer or strength coach, you probably already know how important strength training is for clients who've had an orthopedic surgery. Due to continually declining reimbursement rates, these folks are often discharged from physiotherapy with much less pain, but continued limitations in strength, mobility, and function.
I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Up to 80% of people will have low back pain at some point in their life. In my opinion, fitness professionals serve a pivotal role in the "first line" of defense in folks with low back pain. In this one-of-a-kind course, you'll see EXACTLY how we communicate with clients who have low back pain.

I absolutely had no idea what to expect, and frankly the night before had a little "buyers remorse." Man I am so glad I went! absolutely relevant and useful immediately! Dr. Miles was knowledgeable energetic and entertaining and the time flew by! If you're a fitness professional teaching barbell lifts, this is a must!

Dr. Mash is the real deal for any athlete. His complex knowledge of rehab and understanding of body mechanics allow to help elevate training. He keeps you progressing as you work through injuries instead of just the normal “take some time off”. Great with answering questions thoroughly explaining what he feels are the issues with training or injury.

I wish I met Dr. Mash a year earlier.
Prior to working with Dr. Mash I felt broken and incapable of continuing to do what I love - resistance training. After just a couple of sessions with him, I was reassured that I was not “broken,” and I’m confident that I will fully recover (shoulder & hip pain). Dr. Mash does an exceptional job of taking his extensive knowledge/expertise and clearly communicating it to experienced athletes, novice clients, and everyone in between.
Highly recommend!

I met with Dr. Mash this morning, and I can't say enough good things. We talked about my injury history, how it has progressed / regressed, and how it is limiting my athletic performance & goals. In the hour we spent together, I was able to process where / why I was experiencing pain, and he helped me put together a plan to help me hit the athletic goals that I've set. I would absolutely recommend him to my friends, family & clients.

Dr. Mash at Barbell Rehab provides a much needed service to those of us who find pushing and pulling on heavy objects to be a fun pastime.
My interest in barbell training is due to its effects on general health and wellness. I'm not interested in power-lifting, nor am I actively engaged in any formal type of "athletics." Dr. Mash took the time to listen to my goals and interests. He then performed a thorough evaluation of my training history and the issues that had led me to seek his services (a series of painful back tweaks). Once he had ruled out any serious issue as the cause of my back problem

Dude is a genius. I'm a powerlifter who owns a gym so I wanted somebody I could go to that actually understood strength training and wasn't going to just tell me to stop training. I have seen Michael twice now for the issues I am dealing with. After the first session he was able to determine the exact cause of my one problem, which was fixed… through some programming modifications and some exercise execution changes. Today he was again able to determine the cause of another issue and I look forward to implementing his suggestions into my program and seeing these frustrating strains and pains

Michael Mash is extremely knowledgable, and is great at finding exercises that'll allow you to train around an injury as well as help you recover. He took the time to assess my movements, thoroughly understand my training history, and answer all my questions as he helped me with shoulder pain that took a long time to figure out. Highly recommend!

Dr. Mash is unlike any other physical therapist I’ve seen, which is a great thing! Other PTs I have seen scheduled multiple patients during my session, which meant that I might have only talked to the PT for 20 minutes even though I was scheduled for an hour. Dr. Mash was by my side during all sessions and never double booked appointments. He took the time to explain to me his whole thought process and always made sure I understood what he was trying to accomplish with the exercises I was given. He taught me a lot about pain science which helped give me the confidence to do workouts I enjoy without

Doctor Mash is amazing! I drove 9 hours just to see him. Roughly 7 months ago I suffered a left hip injury and haven't been able to workout since. Michael helped fully educate me on what happened and how we could create a plan to fix everything. He has already written me a workout plan and given me the confidence to workout again. He is extremely responsive if I have a question on any of the movements or need any help. I feel 100% confident that I am finally in the right hands. I would highly recommend him and am so happy that I made the drive.

Michael is extremely knowledgeable and willing to teach. He teaches the fundamentals, and will help you build a base for which can easily be built on. I came in for an hour long session, and came out with a much greater understanding of the bigger lifts, and with more confidence to perform them. I highly recommend him for performance training, and eventually physical therapy.
