Grove Apartments

I’m leaving this review in the hopes that you can possibly take my AC issues seriously and finally fix it once and for all. Maintenance has come no less than 6 times in regards to AC since I moved here 9 months ago. Any fixes that have happened have only worked for a week or less. It is currently 82 degrees in my apartment and I put in a request yesterday. Maintenance was already here on Tuesday and it took 2 days for the AC to stop producing cold air. It is unacceptable to me. How many people are completely without AC currently that you can’t send someone within a whole day? At this point

The manager ragina kept trying to make me sign a lease when I am moving the end of June and she just tagged on a month to month for me to pay this isn't right none of it is and if I had signed a lease then I wouldn't be able to move or wiould have to owe for the whole year even when I move she isn't right nor this place

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Lived there over two years and maintenance almost never showed up to fix anything. Had water running almost 24 hours. Tried to call emergency maintenance and no answer, had to call the office for them to finally come .had Called 4 times. Can never get ahold of anybody in the office. They always have an excuse on why they haven’t came to fix anything. Almost never answer the phone, never have tickets for maintenance problems entered, and when you ask about it, it’s always they don’t have enough workers and that they’re hiring. We moved in March 12. The air conditioning immediately did not work. We requested it to be fixed a couple weeks ago and no one has came to fix it. My apartment is currently 83 degrees, and summer is just about to begin. I live in apartment 304 in building 1603. They do not clean the stairwells nearly enough. Don’t move here.

I applied on there site it said they had three 3 available apartments I choose the apartment on the 3 rd floor and said I wanted to move in next week the site let me continue to sign up and apply 25.00 for a application fee and 100.00 towards move in day! The next day I go out to look at the apartment that they say is available and I already paid them towards and Regina tells me that they have a waiting list and only two ground levels which still will not be ready for a few weeks which I clearly don’t want but even if I did there are no available apartments we were totally mislead and also Regina

Dirty grounds and building exteriors are in disrepair. No preventive maintenance. Minimal clearing of snow/ice and absolutely none of parking areas. Dated fixtures and appliances. Frequent vandalism and theft. This complex definitely looks and feels like it is stuck in the 1980's. The pool is nice. Location convenient to everything. Review updated from 1 to 2 stars on 3/10/21 after meeting with new Property Manager to address concerns. Other issues above still valid.

This place is the worst and the new 'community manager' is just as bad as the last. I recently moved out and was lied to about move out charges. Requested repairs were rarely done. I've called and emailed now several times and have yet to hear back about the move out charges. These people are just trying to save a buck and take advantage of their residents. Spend the extra money and live somewhere else.

Moved in here in the second week of March 2020, first off; the apartment we were shown was not the apartment we were put in. I have a 1 year old. I still have until april 2021 in my year lease.
The first maintenance request I had to put in was April 10, 2020, this was not completed until May 18 , 2020.
Second request April 15, 2020, completed August 10, 2020.
Third request, May 26, 2020 completed August 10, 2020.
Fourth request, tact strip, June 22, 2020, completed August 10, 2020.
Fifth request, again on June 22,2020, was cancelled.

Complete lack of safety and cleanliness. See photos for yourself. If you're wondering why some pictures are so dark it's because they either refuse or are unable to replace light bulbs in shared halls.

It's that time of year for me to have to leave a negative google review for The Grove Apartments in regards to my AC being broken. I submitted a ticket in April, we're heading into June now.
One star, apartment complex refuses to repair necessary equipment in a timely manner, even though they can prepare months in advance for the needed repairs. It's quite sad that a maintenance tech from another apartment complex had to come fix an ac that hasn't been working properly for over a month. It was a SIMPLE 30 minute fix but they have no one onsite "certified" a complete joke. All it needed was a good cleaning.

Well, nothing about this apartment complex is adequate. We have lived here almost a year. Not one of our maintenance request has been fulfilled. Heater is a fire hazzard that does not work notified Sept 16,2018. It is June 28th and it is still is not repaired. Along with heater is AC notified again May 25th and June 28th not repaired. Bathroom shower faucet is still broken since Sept 16, 2018. Maint said nothing wrong with it. It is stripped. Just spins. Tried to with hold rent as il law states and slapped with an evict notice. Horrible place to live in grove apartments, if you want to spend 2 to 3 hours daily to deal with some apartments issue then you thing about living in the grove apartments.
1. Drainage problem and dirty Drainage water will flood in your apartments, so many times in a year.
2. Any time water can come from anywhere in your apartments due to different type of leakage
3. Fruits Flies
4. Mice attack
5. Different insect attack
6. High Mold Issues
7. I am not sure why but you will see policy keep coming to neighborhood
8. Heating bill comes so high because of old setup.

Horrible. The apartments slant. Their pet policy is a joke. The neighbors are rude. They lose rent checks and then charge you the extra! They are beyond disrespectful. Not timely by any means when it comes to repairs. Heating/vent system in bathrooms does NOTHING. Pool is horrible- your skin will peel off after being in for more than five minutes. The weight room? What a joke! Laundry? Don't bother. The machines get nothing clean. The office staff? Unprofessional. Use foul language so profoundly that even sailors would blush! They DO not honor leases like they should be...they allowed my roommate
