Having evolved over thousands of years, from Asia to North America, acupuncture is one of the oldest continually practiced medical treatment methods in the world. Peter Dubitsky has been providing quality acupuncture care in the Mid-Hudson Valley since 1991, and specializes in the treatment of acute and chronic pain conditions.

In 2015 he joined a dedicated multi-disciplinary team of health care providers at the Izlind Integrative Wellness Center, in Rhinebeck NY, where he provides acupuncture and teaches Tai Chi. Mr. Dubitsky practices a North American style of acupuncture which has evolved from the traditions of East Asian medicine, to bring you the best in acupuncture care.
Services
Acupuncture uses hair-thin, flexible needles, inserted into specific points on the body to activate the body's own healing powers. Trigger point acupuncture is our speciality. It is a unique and highly effective form of acupuncture developed in North America and used as a treatment for pain conditions.
Trigger point acupuncture is our speciality. It is a unique and highly effective form of acupuncture developed in North America and used as a treatment for pain conditions. It is also referred to as "dry needling". Trigger points are located in soft-tissue, primarily in bands of tightened muscle fibers.
Electro-acupuncture is the use of an FDA approved electrical device to provide a continuous, gentle stimulation to specific acupuncture needles. The mild current flowing through the needles improves the healing of injured or inflamed joints or muscles, increases pain relieving endorphin release, and stimulates the nervous system to promote balanced functioning and a sense of well-being.
Many first-time patients are concerned that acupuncture needles will feel like hypodermic injections at the doctor's office. They won't. Acupuncture uses hair-thin, flexible needles that you will hardly feel when I insert them. When I gently stimulate the needles they may produce a unique sensation that Oriental medicine calls de qi.
I advise all patients to contact the member services department of their insurance carrier to determine what their benefits are regarding acupuncture. The following is a list of insurance companies that do cover acupuncture in some of their insurance plans. You should check with member services of your insurance company to learn what your specific benefits and patient responsibilities are regarding coverage, copay and deductibles.

Peter is the best acupuncturist I’ve been to hands down. He fixed my back issue in two sessions. He is incredibly knowledgeable and very calm in his approach. I liked the way he explained in advance what he was going to do before he did it. I left feeling very relaxed and more importantly my back pain was so improved.

€Joyful’ just begins to describe how it feels to have a forty-year chronic illness/disability clearing within a matter of weeks. Astonished fits as well. I was diagnosed with “permanent central nervous system damage” in 1981 after gas and pesticide exposures. Western medicine wasn’t able to help and I learned to compensate enough that the illness became a disability, but a serious one. I recently started acupuncture with Peter Dubitsky on an unrelated issue, and low and behold, all roads led to my central nervous system. In the handful of sessions so far the remarkable improvement has
