Food Delivery: Student lunches may only be dropped off at the east and west kiosks by parents. Food delivery service drop-off is not permitted at this time. Face Masks: Per Austin ISD policy, "students, staff and visitors will need to wear face masks when on school properties." Masks are available at both entry kiosks for any student who arrives without one.
An Off-Period Sticker is required so security/admin/staff can easily identify students with an off period. Have an off period and need the REQUIRED sticker? Stop by Mrs. Garcia's offie in the Counseling Hub (across from the library) to get your off period sticker(s). Need a school ID? Services
All entering 8th graders select an academy based on their interests. It's kind of like the "houses" of Hogwarts, but students are selected through a lottery process instead of a sorting hat! Our academies focus mostly on 9th/10th grade and they are based on core courses. In electives, all academies are blended.
OUT OF AUSTIN HS ATTENDANCE ZONE - You will need to submit an "Academies Competitive Application". WITHIN AUSTIN HS ATTENDANCE ZONE - If you automatically qualify to attend Austin High you will submit an "Academy Preference Survey".
NOTE: Because of our special academy model, students who live out of the Austin High attendance zone may complete the "Competitive Application Process" to be considered for admission to a limited number of spots available in our academies.If the "School Assignment by Residential Address" indicates you should attend Austin High, then complete the "Academy Preference Survey".

The senior seminar was designed as an opportunity (as opposed to a requirement) for students in each academy to engage with the pillars on a project of their own design.
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act prohibits discrimination, and assures that students who are disabled with a physical or mental impairment have educational opportunities and benefits equal to those provided to non-disabled students. Section 504 ensures equal educational opportunity, which is mainly accomplished by providing appropriate classroom accommodations to eligible students.
EB stands for "Emergent Bilingugal". Our EB program offers learning support strategies in English classes for students that have been identified as LEP (Limited English Proficiency). Students are identified after they complete a Home Language Survey when registering as a new student with the district.

I haven't been at this school for very long but it's favorite one I've been to so far! The bullying is a little bad but they take care of it and provide help when needed (The bullying is only my personal problems with some people, not everyone I 100% suggest this school to anyone who is thinking of going!
