Great staff who work hard to understand and tailor to the student's needs. There is a great culture of acceptance and students can be themselves and not feel a need to conform to a standard. Thank you, Huntington Surrey - you have been a great support to my son. Huntington-Surrey has made an extraordinary difference in the life of my grandson!
Studying at both Rice and Harvard, Margaret earned her chemistry degree from Rice. After seeing the incredible benefits that Huntington-Surrey provided her eldest child, she decided to change careers to become a science teacher. Since 2008, she has been teaching science at Huntington-Surrey as well as serving as our adviser for Beta Club and the National Honors Society.
After contacting us, we set up a time to meet and discuss your student's specific experiences, interests, and needs as well as answer your questions about our school. If you are interested in further pursuing enrollment, we then set up a period of time to shadow. Shadowing students have the opportunity to get to know their peers, our teachers, and what daily life is like in our educational community.
At Huntington-Surrey, we ensure that our students acquire the critical thinking skills that will open the way to becoming successful adults. We are committed to teaching each of our students how to think, and not what to think. College prep looks different for different students. That means that we find the students where they are at and build them up.
Huntington-Surrey High School was established so students from all backgrounds would have an excellent academic experience in a safe, nurturing environment that caters to their individual needs. Our kids are at this school because this where they need to be. Whether they are dyslexic, gifted, have social anxiety or are a part of the LGBTQ community, our kids thrive with our small class sizes and safe, caring teachers.

I work for the school as the business manager. The administration has changed effective 6/1/17. This is the most student focused school I have ever heard of or seen. The effort to ensure ALL students feel important and are provided with truly incredible opportunities for growth is incredible. My son attends the school and as a parent I can tell you this place has been a true blessing. It is currently at just under 30 students enrolled, but is growing quickly and will capped at around 50 students so inquire soon if you are interested in this school for your child.

Huntington-Surrey has been an amazing school for our son. It a place where kids can thrive on learning, not just survive high school. The college format prepares them for what is ahead, and teachers...amazing, all have either Masters or PHD and drive their students to achieve. It doesn't have athletics, but that was not an issue since my son as he is more of a martial arts enthusiast. This is a perfect school for a smart kid who needs that core attention to challenge them in a positive way, whether a home-school kid or just one who is drowning in the over-large public high school. So glad we found
