Most people experience foot and ankle pains. While they are very common, they may be a signal of a more serious matter. They may; in fact, it may indicate a wide number of health issues and serious foot disorder that require podiatry care. As a top podiatrist in Plano, Dr. Charles Marder has the latest treatment techniques and equipment to treat you foot and ankle pain.
One of the more common conditions treated by podiatric surgeons is the painful bunion. Patients with this condition will usually complain of pain when wearing certain shoes, especially snug fitting dress shoes, or with physical activity, such as walking or running. Bunions are most commonly treated by conservative means.
Hammertoes are a contracture of the toes as a result of a muscle imbalance between the tendons on the top and the tendons on the bottom of the toe. They can be flexible or rigid in nature. When they are rigid, it is not possible to straighten the toe out by manipulating it. Frequently, they develop corns on the top of the toe as a result of rubbing on the shoe.
The root cause of the bunion is the unstable joint. The Lapiplasty procedure corrects the unstable joint, allowing for better long-term results. Patients who have the Lapiplasty technique are.typically walking in a boot within days of surgery. If you are interested in learning more about Lapiplasty as a corrective treatment for bunions, schedule an appointment with Dr. Marder.

With diabetic foot issues as well as normal "wear and tear" it has taken time time to find a podiatrist I feel comfortable with since my previous doctor now only sees wound patients. Had my first visit with Dr. Marder this morning. He took the time to find out exactly where I'm at with my foot care and then he explained everything to me in illustrated detail. I understand the way my orthotics are going to be constructed and why. Previous podiatrists didn't even offer orthotic inserts as an option. Great visit with both the staff and Dr. Marder!

Dr Marder inspires a lot of confidence. Let’s face it, as patients ( and especially new patients) we have no idea which Doctors are great and which ones to avoid.
I’ll say this about Dr Marder, he must have a rare skill set because 2 Doctors said I wounld lose my foot and he was able to save it during my 13 day hospital stay. So naturally I now love the man.
My diabetic condition had my foot degrading from simple callouses to near gangrene in just a matter of weeks. I was depressed about the likely outcome since I’d been told twice not to get my hopes up regarding the foot.

Dr. Marder and his office staff are wonderful! From my consultation in November, 2018 through my bunion surgery in January, 2019 and my post op appointments, his office has been so easy to work with. Dr. Marder himself is so polite and detailed, explaining very clearly options for surgery. During my consultation and every appointment thereafter, he has spent ample amount of time with me. He answers all questions with clear explanations. I can’t recommend Dr. Marder enough! I will be doing my 2nd bunion surgery with him in the coming months and look forward to working with his office again.

I went to Dr. Marder in 2017. I messed up my foot in 2012 and was in constant pain. Dr. Marder took x-rays of my foot. It was really messed up. He did foot surgery in November 2017 and 2nd one December 2017. Then I saw him again in June 2018 because I was having constant pain in my foot. He suggested "MLS Laser" for the pain. I had eight sessions for that and I am happy to say it helped. Now I don't have the pain. I think is an excellent doctor and his staff is always nice. I highly recommend him

Dr Marder, was pleasant and nice to work with. His office staff however, Carla to be very specific, is horrible! I called on 8/24/17 to retrieve medical records for myself for another specialist I will be seeing and Carla without any explanation 'dumped' me into a voicemail. I left the message with my contact info and explanation of my request - I never got a callback. I called on 8/28 and spoke with Lillian. She was more helpful. She explained who would need to fill the record request (the office manager) and informed me that she would pass on the information, and that I should get it in a day

He took care of my son who is now everytime he got hurt. He made him laugh and feel right at home and at the time he was 1-2 years old. I recommend my father to him and just sure enough he was an amazing Dr. to my father as well. He is the best Podiatrist in Dallas/ Plano area!! I tell everyone in my family about him when they are complaining about there feet.

I twisted my ankle pretty bad in September. I was given Dr. Marder's number by a friend. Called the office and spoke with Carla...she was very kind and got me in that day. Very grateful for that because I could not walk on my foot at all. Ended up that I had a small fracture and they put me in a boot. The doctor is wonderful and the staff is very pleasant. I even met the office manager who was super sweet! Great office, staff, and doctor!! Highly recommend!!
